Using an OS that is in beta, for anything important, seems like a bad idea to me. The point of trying windows 7 right now is that you'd have an extra machine to put it on and test it for MS on various things ...it wouldn't be important if software runs on it or not since most software developers aren't worrying about it right now.

I occasionally have similar issues with vista x64, have tracked mine down to java being utterly retarded. (uninstall/reinstall of java tends to fix this for me)

Yeah, more info on the error though, and more help may be forthcoming.

yea I wasn't complaining, was just curious if anyone had a quick fix. I installed win7 on my "play pc" which is what I use to do everything besides work.

I have formated and put xp pro 32bit back on. To bad it only recognizes 3.25hb of my 8gb of ram :( I know nothing uses that much, but it sure is nice seeing all that ram free ..hah

I am having a problem updating eq2bot via svn. Everything updates fine besides spell list, can't seem to find a fix for it, yet. Error says access is denied

Just started using iseq2 this week, running on three computers and the Windows 7 x64 is the most stable of the three.

My other two PC's are XP x86 have had numerous crashes since installing Innerspace and iseq2. But no crashed on the Win7 pc.

Did have problems patching Innerspace in the beginning had to give full control to the directory for all users and disable DAC. But no other changes the system to get the app running.

Also just a note to the creators and authors of iseq2. Thank you for creating the wonderful app's. Have been using EQ2bot, GoHarvest and Craft. With very little problems.

since im playing again EQ2 with IS (Vista64) i notice alot of crashs like CTD or Innerspace kernel blabla...

with XP32 i never had problems 6 month ago.
i dont want say IS or EQ2 is wrong more like Vista.

the reason can be now i play dual screen 2 EQ2 instances bevor on 2 diffrent machines.

intel dual core 3.4Mhz
4gb Corsair DDR2
8800gtx

that means my hardware should be able to handle 2 eq2 instances.

are you gentlemen aware of proclock and setting core affinities?

There is a problem with eq2 now that it will load all sessions into the last core unless these settings and directives are used to lock affinities.

I'm running xp64, vista64, and xp32, all stable, all running 2-4 sessions.

There are no isxeq2 related crashes with running vista64.

The announce command was causing crashes, for reasons I have no clue why, but that has been removed.

I have no idea about Windows 7 ....it's still in beta and not yet released. You shouldn't be using a beta OS to play video games.

Windows 7 Beta Build 7077 is a helluv alot more stable than previous versions. Numerous configs i run that failed on 7068 are now passing on 7077. Granted this is HW/SW testing, but still...

Which build of Win7 are you running?

I can tell you that ISXEQ2/Innerspace/EQ2 is capable of working on Windows 7 64-bit. I ran that for a bit and only went back to Vista because of an annoying bug where my spells kept showing as ready faster than they should have (you couldn't actually cast them faster). Wasn't crashing though. It was build 7000 I believe (the official Microsoft one downloaded from them)

Running Build 7100 x64 on 3 machines with innerspace and ISXEQ2 and everything runs very very well.

Had to follow the group policy UAC options on the following web site.

http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/30/how-to-disable-and-turn-off-uac-in-windows-7/

Inline quote of data in case that page dies.

Method 3: Turn Off UAC Using Group Policy

For Windows 7 Ultimate, Business or Enterprise edition which has Local Group Policy, or computer joined to domain and has Active Directory-based GPO, the group policy can be used to disable UAC for local computer or many computer across large networks at once.

1. Enter GPedit.msc in Start Search to run Local Group Policy editor. (Or gpmc.msc to run Group Policy Management Console for AD-based domain GPO editor).

2. Navigate to the following tree branch:

Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options

In GPMC, browse to the required GPO which is linked to the domain or OU where the policy wants to apply.

3. Locate the following policy in the right pane:

User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mode

Set its value to Elevate without prompt.

4. Locate the following policy in the right pane:

User Account Control: Detect application installations and prompt for elevation

Set its value to Disabled.

5. Locate the following policy in the right pane:

User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode

Set its value to Disabled.

6. Locate the following policy in the right pane:

User Account Control: Only elevate UIAccess applications that are installed in secure locations

Set its value to Disabled.

7. Restart computer.
note that doing the above will actually cripple UAC which is a major security issue if you're attempting to do this on a work computer.

Also had to check the "Run as administrator" and the "run in Windows XP SP3 mode" option for the eq2 station launcher.

Your crash is in EverQuest2.exe ..not innerspace or ISXEQ2.

Are you 100% sure you're using the right version of EverQuest2.exe?

Running on Windows 7 rel 7100 on both machines with only 1 issue, they don't seem to wanna talk to each other for eq2comannder, the primary machine establishes the link but the 2nd will not auto run eq2bot or any of the goodies.

other than that though the OS is really stable and runs sweet.

Fairly. I even pulled down the current version. Let me go back and check however. It's on the Mrs. system, so it's entirely possible that's not the case.

Even better, it looks like Innerspace is crashing it. I attempted to do a full reinstall of Innerspace, just ran it w/o ISXEQ2 loaded, and it bombs out with the same crash. This is very odd.

Aha! It appears it's the dumb ass Creative Alchemy nonsense that's the problem. Sorry to waste folks time, when in doubt, I should've looked at Norton/Creative/nForce trifecta first ;)
