Which, of course, broke ISXVG.

For me, what happens is that there is a very long pause after I hit the Play button, right after the splash screen goes away, but before the character selection screen appears.

I can see the four text messages in the upper left generated by ISXVG, but they do not change (i.e., it doesn't update FPS etc.). Then after 20 or 30 seconds, Vanguard closes and I'm popped back to the desktop, but without any error message or actual locking up.

No, not always, just usually. :) Just giving a heads-up that this patch was in that category and some of the symptoms. Especially since this patch was not announced in advance.

Error message is: The version of ISXVG you are trying to use does not match the version of Vanguard that oyu currently possess. In other words. Amadeus has not yet released a new version of ISXVG for the latest patch of Vanguard ...

So we probably have to wait a bit :)

... got ... because ISXVG was updated today. It is working again. Thanks Amadeus.

mine is doing the same thing but no desktop. locks up and have to reboot comp. will wait for update.
