Late To The Party But..

Hey guys. I haven't played in a while (about a year or so) came back recently. In tot i was running a 2 healer setup: tank, cleric, bard, sham, cc and scout. I've been reading the forums to get back into the swings of things and i'm noticing that a lot of people are ditching their 2nd healer and going with another dps class. Am i going to run into trouble with my current setup in this expansion? Would like to get this answered before i sink in any time doing KA stuff on my guys (so far only did my tank). Was thinking of replacing the inquisitor for a brigand if needed to drop the 2nd healer. Thanks.

Once again my tot team was:
Zerk, Inq, Dirge, Mystic, Coercer, Ranger.

There's no problem running with two healers, and if you're just starting out you'll probably want/need the two healers until you get geared.

I'd just note that you want to get started on Ascension classes for each toon right away, and make sure you grab the daily scrolls. The majority of dps this expac comes from your Ascension nukes, so the quicker you get them the better (and well worth upgrading the 2-3 best ones for each class, either through SC or research/broker).

To add to what midnyte_ride said, I'm still a firm believer that your group should remain the 'standard' group. Tank, shaman, non-shaman, bard, enchanter, dps. By the end of an xpac lots of people used to use a 2nd priest, but it has never worked to run a single priest at the start of new content successfully.

Also, with the grind epic 2.0, ascension, and what not you have now, realistically you are going to pick a group (and your group looks fine IMO), and stick with it, and it will likely never change again for the rest of your EQ2 life. Alts are all but done.

I don't want to scare you off... but this is what I'd do:
Complete KA adventure time line, including the 30 quests quest.
Get your ascension started. Set up Ogre ADT to ensure you get your scrolls every single 18 hours.
Start on epic 2.0 pre-reqs.
Continue on epic 2.0 pre-reqs.
Avoid forks in the eye while working on epic 2.0 pre-reqs.
Once you get your epic 2.0 pre-reqs done on all 6 toons (so about 12-24 months from now.. little sarcasm here), start on your epic 2.0 (assuming you are Ascension 5 or above, which I think you will be).
The gear you will get from doing these quests, and the epic 2.0 itself is just insane.
It's possible you will get to a heroic zone you can't complete for your epic 2.0, if this happens just move to the next toon and see how far you can get in their epic 2.0. You will be collecting a lot of gear while doing this.
While you're doing all of this epic 2.0 stuff, especially pre-reqs, any toon you aren't working on, set up and be running Ogre PG_UD, as the gear from the PGs will make you 10000 times stronger (okay slight exaggeration). It takes quite a few hours, but if you have it running while you're doing pre-reqs, you'll get tons of coins no problem.

Epic 2.0 is a HUGE hurdle for people running a full group. It is a lot of work and frustration. But once you get past it, the game really opens up, and you can finally start to enjoy being able to smash zones and pick up gear etc etc. It is a long road to get there... but it really is the #1 most important thing.

Thank you both for great advice. I'm slightly concerned about 2.0s. I have this fear that it's going to be obsolete when the new expansion comes out later this year. I hope that's not the case and that the 2.0s will be useful for a while. It is a lot of work for sure, by the look of it. I will have to judge how insanely into this i want to get. By the way, i am running the PG_UD but outside of my main account, my other 5 accounts only have 1 or 2 at max 100 level toons, so it's going to take a while since you can only do 1 run per 90 minutes.

I do have 1 question about using ascension abilities. My tot profiles obviously don't include them. I was going to add them, but my tank is only ascension level 4 right now. I see that these abilities are mostly on longer cooldowns, are they mostly designed for boss fights?

I wouldn't expect 2.0's to be obsolete any time soon, for 2 reasons. You get 2 spells, so they will be around forever, and the proc on the weapon is absolutely insane. Combat mit reduction is extremely crazy. Even if they bring out new weapons that have equal or better combat mit debuffs on them (which I doubt), you'll still want the 2 spells in the end. So spending the time doing them won't be lost for years, and maybe ever.
I'm actually expecting (and dreading) the xpac will have a new quest where you upgrade it to epic 2.1, which makes it a level 110 version. Of course, this will require 1000 shiny collections, 5000 quests completed, every single time line, 84 faction grinds, and killing every single solo mob and single zone in the game.
