Hello all,

I am a complete newbie to this software, and found it by a complete accident (was doing some searches on eq2). Before I decide to pay for this software I have some questions for the community.

Being required to pay for Inner Space, and also pay for the EverQuest 2 module I would really like some understanding on what people use this for exactly, before I decide to pay. What do you use this software for (as detailed as you could get would be great)? I notice that there are bots for each class, does that mean they can grind on mobs while you sit back and watch a movie? Or does that mean it knows what to do in a group, I would like some clarification on the bots.

Is there any way possible to get a 5 day trial of Inner Space? If anyone knows how I would love to hear.

As a customer to isxGames, after purchasing this software and using it, how has it changed your gaming experience?

Even though the site states that Support does not come with the software, by reading through the forums they seem to be on top of it when EQ2 patches. By your personal experience, how has the "unoffical" support been? Is there ever a time you are paying for this software but can't use it? If so, how long? I obviously know there will be some downtime here and there.

I apologize for the long post. I am just trying to get a clear understand on what this is, and how it helps everyone, and what they use it for. I just like to know what I'm buying.

Yes. And if the effort of working your own heart and lungs should prove too great, I hear they even have machines for to help with that, these days.

Insofar as a piece of software can be said to "know" things, eq2bot knows how to work in both group and solo settings, although both require some configuration on the user's part (as one might expect).

Not that I know of, but the lavish/innerspace forums are a far better place to ask that. I will say that IS is a top-notch software product, and one of the few things you'll find in this life that does all and everything that its advertising claims it does. Given that, and the extremely detailed documentation available, there's really nothing to gain from a trial period...although I understand wanting to "cover your ass" as a consumer.

As a customer to isxGames, after purchasing this software and using it, how has it changed your gaming experience?

This depends entirely on you and how you use it: from your question above, I gather that for you it would make your "gaming experience" much like the experience of watching a movie in the other room However, if you actually get into it and learn to write your own scripts, it's a total revolution. You can pretty much tailor your playing experience to be whatever you want, handling just those details you choose...want to never have to cast a buff yourself again? Done. Prefer to do-it-yourself, but wouldn't mind a timer going off or some other type of warning? Done. Want a warning whenever a named spawns within a certain distance, or to automatically target and pull it? Whatever you want.

As for support, I confess that I myself have felt let down a time or two, but I'm a power user/developer that really taxes the software for all its worth. Patches are typically extremely fast (within a day, if not several hours of Sony pushing new code) and the "critical" bugs are dealt with fast and effectively.

Overall, both IS and the ISXGames extensions are a hell of a bargain for the price, given the cost of most other software.

I'm sorry if you misunderstood me when I asked "Can the bot play while you sit back and watch a movie", I was just asking a theoretical question to find out the power of the software. I am more interested in being able to play multiple characters without the headache of controlling each one simultaniously.

I have my bot running solo all the time.

granted, the bot is made more for running multible accounts at the same time, but with some tweaking and patience you can solo with it okay.

If you are a solo'r, or don't play with multible accounts, then you have more work to do to get things working for you.

Knowing some programing language helps, but isn't required. Being logical, and able to find things out on your own in important, because help here isn't always forth coming. Though it also depends on the questions you ask, if you ask good questions, that shows you've been doing some learning of the stuff, then your more likely to get help, but general questions don't get answered as much.

If you looking for something to do the work for you right away, then you'll be disappointed. There is a learning curve, and while you can get help on getting IS and ISXEQ2 running, you probably won't find help on learning the various scripts, without you actually going thru them to gain some understanding.

that being said, I love IS & ISXEQ2. Wether or not I decided to activate my other accounts so I can run 2, or just stick with my 1 account, it's freed up considerable time for me.
of course, I leave it running pretty much 24/7, with a char either farming crap, or working on crafting.

But if you want a trial of innerspace, you need to ask lax on his board if he does any, but I don't think he does.

Also, if you decide to join up, and join irc chat, then remember if no one answers your question right away it's not personal, very few people actually sit and watch the channel. But as I said before, the quality of your question also helps with getting answers.

I've worked off and on with IS and ISXEQ2 for about a year now. The only things I use it for are harvesting and grinding crafting lvls/writs. I must say it is worth every penny.

Yes, I fire up my harvest/craft bot and let it run while I play my PSP or watch a movie and it works fine w/o much intervention. Personally I don't feel comfortable just leaving it on and going to another room/sleep, but that's because I'm in a guild and I'm a bit paranoid.. you know, a guildmate happens to be in the same zone where you're harvesting and asks for some help, he sees you running around harvesting but not responding to any guild chat... might get a bit suspicious. So I'll just leave it running while I'm in the room, glancing at the screen here and there to make sure nothings going on.

The first time you get everything set up and start watching your character expertly running from node to node harvesting is magical. And in my opinion it is more gratifying hearing the rare harvest sound while your bot is working than when you are personally harvesting.

Harvesting and crafting are two of my least favorite things to do in game, so it's nice to not have to spend hours doing it myself. And having a small army of alts to outfit makes it really handy to have a program doing all the work for me so I can focus on the fun parts, adventuring.

I've tampered with eq2bot a bit, takes a bit of setup, but soloing is a real possibility, again just a search on the forums should give you everything you need.

As you can see from my post count (or my lack thereof), I've never had a problem I couldn't figure out with just a simple search or a little research. Scripting is a bit over my head, even though I have a fairly decent grasp of C++, but I'm sure with a bit of effort I could figure that out... but who needs to, all the scripts you need have already been made.

Downtime of course will happen, being a casual player I've never had to go more than a day or two w/o the extension, but there's plenty to do while it's being updated... like... actually playing the game!

So that's my opinion, as a casual user, for what it's worth.

Okay, what I have done with this software so far.

1. Solo'd a class from 0 - 70 without ever touching the keyboard (oh btw, I still don't know how to play that character without isxeq2)

2. Used it to play a group from from 0 - 70 where I controlled the main Guardian and others supported me (4 man group right now).

3. Harvested for hours on end and loaded up on every TS item needed to level 4 or 5 TS characters from 0 to 70, which I have did also from 0 -70 without touching the keyboard (and btw still can't make a ts item without using isxeq2 on all those characters)

4. have done every Instant in the game with 4 character group, no fighting over loot.

5. created scripts that will buy and sell on the broker automatically with the ebb and flow of the market. Making 100s of Plat without ever being at the keyboard.

And thats just some of the stuff that I have done with this software, it will do almost everything you want except hack the game (warping, speed hacks) that is not what this software is about. Its about giving you the ability to play with more enhancements than down right cheating the game.

As probably the most prolific contributor to eq2bot, I can tell you what I make it for.

For me, its to control multiple boxes while I do things. This can mean running my own 6 man group, to controlling the MT group on an Emerald Halls raid. The bot is designed to be able to excel at both, but does require adjusting settings in the UI as needed.

Thats first and foremost what I design the bot and the class files to be able to do. However, as I work on them I make some effort to make sure they are atleast capable of running solo and killing blue con solo mobs. I recognize some classes *could* be solo bot'd better, but the development effort I put in is not focused for solo play, its focused for group and raid support.

The bot is capable of 100% unattended grinding as well, however, it isn't how I use it. I always control one of the toons, and configure everything else to support me.

The other useful things I find:
1. Tell notifications
2. IRC control scripts
3. craft automation (but tradeskills aren't needed anymore)
4. harvest automation (barely needed anymore)
5. radar
6. Movement automation (moveto thunderingsteps from ant docks)
8. Profit!

Ok, well not really on profit, but others use it for this.

@Pygar: I've been gone from EQ2 since Feb. 2006 and I am just now returning (maybe). I've been using ISXWoW since November 2006.

I have 2 questions for you.

1. Why are tradeskills not needed anymore (don't my newb characters need gear and spells and such?). Perhaps you mean YOU just don't need Tradeskilled stuff anymore.

2. How the hell do I get the EQ2Craft started? I apparently have EQ2Craft installed by default but there isn't an .ISS file like I would expect. I've read something about "/craft" but that doesn't work either.
EDIT: Ok, I found out it is just "craft" at the console. However, all I get (after moving moveto.iss and mobcheck.iss into IS scripts dir.) is
"Opening bags and recipes", bags open and then "Starting automatic crafting bot" and then nothing. No error in console, nothing. I have looked for a walkthrough but not found one.

I only have 2 accounts atm, if you were going to run 2 bots together, what 2 classes would you use?

I went through this same thing and figured it out. Here is what you should do.

1) Get everything out of SVN, per other forum posts.
2) Copy it all over to Scripts, per other forum posts.
3) *** Copy the UI/EQ2Skin.xml into Innerspace/Interface folder ***
4) craft (or /craft) to start

The key to figuring out (3) for first-time users, is to try running the EQ2bot script and notice it complains about not having this file in it's proper place.
