Ogre Adt - Ascension Daily Task (scrolls)

Last week I released Ogre ADT to help with getting scrolls. If you're not sure what this is, you basically make a list of all your toons that are capable of getting scrolls, and it will log each one in and get you a scroll. More details in the link below.

It was basically a beta release, something quick that people could use right away. Then they announced scrolls were changing and they would be moving to a vitality system. Didn't seem like any reason to continue Ogre ADT.

Turns out, they were only half removing scrolls. With vitality now playing a part, this meant Ogre ADT needed some love more than ever.

I went through and gave it a nice overhaul.
Here are a few of the key changes:
  • It no longer changes your ascension class. It will navigate to whatever class you follow.
  • The UI was finished, so you can click on a toon name and see the status of them.

It appears Ascension will be part of this game for the next while, I'd recommend having a look!

Not sure what I am doing wrong but I can't seem to get the list to populate any of my guys. Does it automatically populate based on what you have inEq2Chars?

Did you use the list manager to create them?
List manager does populate based on eq2chars that have full information filled out.
Ogre ADT populates based on List manager.

I was using List manager that popped up from the ADT screen when I pressed manage lists. In the OgreListManager UI, the only thing that's in there is the NULL under Save List field. I tried deleting the eq2chars.xml and reloading, still nothing.

Edit: Just read about the full information part. So it won't populate unless account information and everythign is filled out?

This is an excellent tool, thanks Kannkor! I've had no issues building a list, and it logs them in and moves them to the trainers flawlessly.

Would there be any way to have them move to the portal object in the GH? It's just the other side of the room from where I normally log them out, with no objects in the way, but my toons just camp themselves if I don't move them to the portal.

Just ran it on my group, and one returned an error I thought I should report. I didn't realise one of my toons had 'leveled'. so encountered the following which threw up an error:

Ascension ( toonname ) updated. ERROR: Unknown Conversation
with Aranolh Tol'Ren: I believe that I have learned all that I can at my
level of training. Is there more that you can teach me?

I just needed to click on the chat bubble, which placed a new spell in my knowledge book, then I could run though the convo of asking for another scroll

Correct. It requires full information (username/password/char/server) because it has to log in each character. Without that information it would have no way of logging you in.

I'll see what I can do about making it move to the portal object in the GH, since apparently a bunch of people don't have it near the door.

I'd need to know exactly how this works. When you hail him and got your level, could you keep talking to get the scroll? Or did you have to re-hail?

Ah ok, I thought I'd be able to log on all my guys and bring up the script and run it from there. Thank you for the clarification.

Another time it doesn't run correctly -- my toons just hit level 5 and they just hailed the trainer and got a new prefix title via 'accept reward' and then camped.

This was the dialogue on the geomancer:

"Greetings once more, student. How may I ah, assist you?"
"I believe that I have learned all that I can at my level of training. Is there more you can teach me?"
You've earned the achievement [Journeyman Geomancer]
Your geomancer ascension class has leveled up to level 5
"I have been watching your ah, progress, and feel that you are right. It is time to teach you more advanced techniques as a Geomancer!"

Then hail again for the regular dialogue to get a scroll.

Correct, as of right now it doesn't level you. It's slightly complicated and I just haven't taken the time to add it in.

I have been using this every day (thank you so much for this!) and I have run into a problem the last few days. I have one toon that is a caster so has to use the totem of escape to get to the thaumaturgy guy in the cave, except that the toon doesn't use the totem and just camps once in OF. The error says "Failed to make it to Thaumaturgist master. Suppose to use Totem of Escape but is on cooldown." Except that it isn't on cool down. The toon right before it in the list was a scout with escape, but that one caster is my only non-evac toon that needs to get to the tunnel, so I'm not sure what's borking the use of the escape totem. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Hmm... are there any other messages in the console on this toon? I also run it daily on usually about 80 toons. Although 68 of them are parked at the elementalist, so I guess it's hard to gauge them. But the other 12 are a variety and I have watched people use the evac totem. I'll watch tomorrow (already ran it for today) and see, but everyone ran successful earlier today.

Two questions do I need to go fill in the char info manually? I can auto log in all my toons but three come up error for thus script.
Also once I get that sorted will the scrip run indefinitely? Like if I know I won't be on over the weekend or go away for a week? Can it keep loging in everyday? I usuily camp my toons by the scroll dudes so no movement or if short on time to get scrolls.

I lied a third question is there a way to have all my toons camp to login screen Instead of desktop?

1) Can you be more specific than "error". Plenty of errors can happen. You need to have people in your eq2chars list, which sounds like you do if you can log them in. Then you need to make a list via list manager.
2) It will run indefinitely until EQ2 decides to crash. Which depends on how many toons you are doing because each toon means more zoning. I personally restart mine every day. But technically as long as there isn't a forced patch it should be able to run until EQ2 crashes (likely out of memory crash).
3) Unrelated to adt I assume? Off the top of my head no, unless you make a raw command button.
