Ovilas Ironwing

I am in need of some help. I have looked in the other posts and have tried for two days now and can not get Ovilas down. I am not sure if it is a gear issue, I am in EM heroic gear. I get him down to about 60% and then he spawns an add, like the other posts say. When I get the add killed he throws not one but two or three toons across the room. I can not get all of them back in time before the massive AOE goes off and wipes the group. Any help or insight would be helpful.

Use the 4 statues around him. If you position a character with their back to the statue and slightly up it(not so far they go into a duck stance as you then get LoS issues) it will mitigate the effects of the knockback. Only the adds do a knockback, although if you're EM heroic geared you're not going to have enough DPS to kill it before it gets at least one off. However, the point is to switch and kill the adds as fast as possible.

If you are using ogrebot, use the autotarget function and set your toon to "no move". I usually get 2 adds, when i kill it.

Thanks for the responses. I will continue to grind the rest of the zone for more gear and try the campsite suggestions along with the back to the pillars, although I find it hard to get all of them set and still able to cast. I do appreciate all the suggestions.

Here is how I do it.

I use auto target for the adds. They have a knock back that wrecks havoc on your group. The wipe condition is when you have a toon that is off of the platform for some set time a AoE goes off that wipes all of my group except for the tank. So, I make sure and camp on the platform and use auto target and kill the adds as soon as possible once they pop. Sometimes, if you dont kill the add quick enough and a toon get knocked off, I switch over and run them back to the platform.

All in all the name does not put out much DPS so really the battle to me comes down to handling the adds and not being off of the platform for too long.

I set my guys to run behind the mob in melee range at 99% or less...
I run up on the platform with preheals and set my tank's back at a pillar. The rest should move to the diagonal pillar once the 99% threshold is hit.
Hit Campspot-Dft at this point so if they get kb'd or ported to the center, they'll run back to that position.
Tab to the adds if they assist the tank or use the auto-target settings to have dps switch for adds and then back to the named.
Shouldn't be a problem after that.

My suggestion is to run the contested SS (the 3 zones connect and you can literally run through all three). The contested SS has better drops than the instances.

Contested is easier than instance and yeilds better returns. my 2cents

But then you're out in the open... botting. I personally avoid doing that.

I had a lot of problems at first with this mob as well. Here's what worked out for me:

1. Set the uplink on everyone to 100% npc health and ranged. Makes them jump on the adds quicker.
2. Hit OFollow-Dft, then OFlw-- several times. Makes them hug in a tight follow.
3. On the tank, target yourself before running in. This is important.
4. Run right thru the mob to a pillar and campspot the team. You might wanna toss a quick on-the-move aoe (like Hammer Ground) as you pass the boss so your healers aren't chewed up.
5. Run the tank to the opposing pillar.

If you have grind options on, you'll automatically target the adds. If not, just manually do it via OSA. It's a rough fight, esp the first couple times. Have patience, you'll get it. Good luck
