Problems loading Vanguard within Innerspace

I am having trouble loading VG through IS. It hangs at the Vanguard Launchpad. Has anyone encountered and solved this problem? It only happens on one machine. The other loads it fine. Yes VG loads fine without IS.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Are you auto loading ISXVG? Or do you have to manually open the console in game and type ext isxvg?

If you're not even loading isxvg at the time of the crash I suggest asking for help in #ISMods, where Lax (the creator of Inner Space and Lavish Soft) is. There are others there as well who should be able to help you.

somtimes I hang at the launchpad for a minute or so. Try walking away from the computer for a few minutes and give it time.

It hangs forever. I left it for about 30 minutes while I went away to do other things. And as for ISMods irc. All they had to say was to go to the ISXVG channel. I have tried shutting down all the processes I can do without, updated everything I can think of but still it hangs. My other system runs it just fine so I know its just something about this system. I'll try in IRC again today though.

Is ISXVG loaded when the game hangs? Second time asking.

You never answered the question of whether or not you autoload, or had manually loaded ISXVG prior to the hang. If you have not in anyway, shape, or form loaded ISXVG before the hang, then it is absolutely not an ISXVG issue and you need to specifically tell them so.

So, was ISXVG loaded or not?

After the initial load failure I stopped loading ISXVG and the I did a fresh install of IS so yes it is strictly an IS issue but because its Vanguard they send me back to ISXVG. Its all good though. I know it is something on this system since I am able to get it working on other systems. I was really just hoping it was something that had been encountered before and the answer was a simple one.

Being 3 days into this issue, I am determined to resolve it though. I'll post what I learn.

An update!

I created a new user on the machine and it all loaded fine.

I pulled IS diag from both and the only differences I can find are:

Not working....
Sound: Realtek AC97 Audio
Module 0x01CF0000-0x01D4B000: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\INK\SKCHUI.DLL (Wed Feb 07 09:09:58 2001)
Module 0x01F10000-0x021D6000: C:\WINDOWS\system32\msi.dll (Mon May 02 15:51:33 2005)

Working....
Sound: ¨
Module 0x01D30000-0x01D8B000: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\INK\SKCHUI.DLL (Wed Feb 07 09:09:58 2001)
Module 0x01ED0000-0x02196000: C:\WINDOWS\system32\msi.dll (Mon May 02 15:51:33 2005)

Sound is the only thing that is really different. The other two are only in different memory locations.

With the patch today, I've also come across a game-freezing bug.

After the patch had been completed, I would auto-load Vanguard and ISXVG through Innerspace and everything would work well until the load screen right before character selection. The game would freeze and could only be undone via a restart.

Next thing I did was reinstall ISXVG, but to no avail. Then I reinstalled IS without the ISXVG auto-load and I could log in my char again but once I "ext isxvg" the crashes occured again. Again, I was running the Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Default Profile to actually get into the game before manually bringing up the console and loading isxvg. Putting it into windowed mode, I can clearly see "isxvg has been successfully loaded" before the ctd.

At first I thought this might be an IS problem but not sure now, sorry if it is Ama.

Same issue here, I autoload isxvg ever since the added subscription fee. Was working fine yesterday.

Since the patch today, I get a black screen freeze right after the login and hitting "play" and before seeing the character select screen. Have to reboot to get out of it.

I could be wrong but I remember reading in the instructions for ISXVG that it could take a day or two after a Vanguard patch for the ISXVG to be updated and durring that time the game will not load if you are trying to load it through the interspace interface ....

in other words .. if you just load Vanguard from the Vanguard icon it should load fine ....

and sometime today or tomorrow most likely ISXVG will be updated and will load back up just fine ....

Like I said .. I could be wrong ..... it's not very likely but I suppose it could happen to even me :p

Yes, but is it IS or ISXVG that needs to be patched  ? If it's IS then it would be fine, but if it's ISXVG then the autopatch wouldn't work if you can't manually "ext" in game.

Its ISXVG thats needs a patch since they updated. For those not crashing or locking up we get the messages that ISXVG is exiting due to version mismatch.

wierd happenings

whilst we are on the subject of crashings and patches, this morning (aussie time) i downloaded the patch and innerspace would run vanguard fine except obviously isxvg could not patch because their isn't one available BUUUT after a reboot i've tried again to see if their has been an update yet and i get a window which says:

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes: vgclient.exe - Bad Image
The application or DLL c:\program files\innerspace\extensions\isxvg.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

So in essence the isxvg module isn't even trying to patch for me anymore, i'll reinstall it and hopefully that should bring it right but i thought i'd just mention it in case the info is of any importance to anyone.

Same issue here, on my bot computer I auto load isxvg ever since the added subscription fee. Was working fine before the April 18 patch of Vanguard.

My main computer works fine.

I was able to fix the problem by removing the Startup Load ISXVG we had made and doing it manually in game.

My bot system just could not handel loading the game and updating isxvg at the same time. Everything is working fine now. I did put the Auto Load back in and come next patch we will see how it goes.

Therein lies the problem, some of us can't load up isxvg for it to update without crashing,auto-load nor manual load.
I, too, am having this problem. First I was getting the freeze-on-load problem, which was actually due to Dr Watson starting up after the crash (telling zone alarm to not run it made it just a regular CTD). After reinstalling IS I was able to run VG thru it without crashing, but it will now crash the instant I type "ext isxvg". I deleted and reinstalled the extension, too, and no dice. I tried both windowed and non-windowed mode.

Having the same issue with it hanging on the load screen before character select (ext isxvg is set to load with game launch in innerspace and was working fine before the patch)

Auth info is all there in the XML. I don't think ISXVG has self updated since the patch but I could be wrong.

HELP!
