pulling with ranged weapon

Ogrebot appears to be far superior than than eq2bot in nearly every way, except that I cannot pull with just using a bow or ranged weapon.
I have tried using the "workaround" where I choose mining for my pull spell, that doesn't seem to work as my toon stays at range whilst his merc goes in and gets wasted,
is there gonna be an update soonish where bow/ranged weapon pulling will be made simpler? or am I doing something very wrong?

Tell your merch not to charge head long into a fight? Any time something gets close and draws agro the mob wont move.

If you want to get closer to the mob than turn on "move in to melee range" And set it to an appropriate distance that works for you, as well as a good HP level.

Bow pulling will be implemented when I get time to rewrite the autohunt tab. It is currently the oldest tab (some other tabs are older, but I've re-written them).

For the ignorant among us, how do you tell your mercenary not to charge. I resisted getting a mercenary to add to my little 4 box group until two days ago, but I do find that my inquisitor likes to run headlong after a mob rather than let the mob get to the group the way I'm used to things being.

I've tried every setting I can see on the mercenary itself. Is it some setting burried somewhere in ogre thats sending the mercenary off, or am I just missing a good setting.

Turn off its assists and protects.

Turn off its assists and protects.
Unfortunately, ogrebot apparently detects merc's as pets and sends it into attack (as can be told by the 'pet attack message'!)

A tab of pet controls so your healer merc stops charging as soon as you pull would be nice! Heck, really go over the top and put in pet pull code! :)

On the Settings tab, Turn off "Ignore NPC HP (100%)" and on the "Setup" tab, use "% NPC HP for pet to attack" to control.

If you hav ethe ignore option checked, it ignores the second option...

I've got an issue that's related... I play with a Tank mercenary, and often it will stop protecting me and itself. It will stand there doing nothing while I try (in vain) to solo mobs.

I believe something in the code might be using a /pet backoff command of some type which has the effect of putting the merc into passive mode. It's accompanied by chat text "Your mercenary will ignore everything from now on until otherwise ordered." That's what's turning off the protect/assist.

The icons for protecting itself and me are both unselected, and the "protect" and "assist" dropdowns are both set to none. It stays on follow.

Based on what's above, I thought the issue was on the setup tab, with the "%NPC HP for pet to attack". So I've set that at 99 (I also tried 100), and I also ticked the "Ignore NPC HP(100%)", expecting this would keep the tank mercanry protecting me.

That hasn't worked, it's still turning off the protects every few fights. Sometimes I'm lucky and might get 15 minutes or so without it turning off, but something is wrong..

Is there a way to prevent the script from issuing the pet back off command? Is a mercenary tab/button worth considering?

I just checked, if your target, is different than your pet (I assume mercs work the same way) than your target, it does a pet back off, then sends the pet in again.

Is the merc assisting you? Or is he targeting the mobs directly? Or does it change?

Merc is set to assist me.

That makes sense. It only happens with multi-mob encounters.

I think what happens is we'll kill one mob, and before I select a new target, a mob will hit the Merc and so the Merc will target and fight back.

Or he's retargetting the remaining mobs in the encounter because I've got no target. That makes sense, rather than him standing there doing nothing just because my toon doesn't have a target yet.

That would resul in the "pet" having a target different to my (non)target.

Shouldn't happen. The pet assisting is only executed when you HAVE a valid kill target (nothing, or yourself isn't valid). The pet back off/attack thing should only happen when you have a valid target. Otherwise, none of that code is checked.
