Random 1000?

I'm not sure if something like this is incorporated in innerspace/isx, but I've heard through chat that there is something that makes it when in game, when rolling on loot, wheather you roll ran/100 or ran 100, or whatever, you get the highest roll. Its referred to as "magic dice".
Is this a feature in isx and if so, whats the command to open it?
probably not the right forum to list this in, but wasnt sure where to go.

no. not possible, regardless of what you may have heard elsewhere. the /rand command goes server-side, and the server generates your random number for you. nothing done client-side can change the random result.

ok. at least that alleviates the concern :)

however, i cant help but wonder how from a couple of ppl i know on the server, they always get the higest score in a row, roll after roll after roll. one said to me "watch this" and rolled a 997 out of 1000 5 times in a row--the same score---they just "lol'd" me. Seen one guy in a grp during the whole time, always get the higest roll, he waited till everyone rolled, was the last one to always roll, and come out with the highest.

I suppose it might be possible to fake the text output if you're using the actual /random command. However, I do not see how it would be possible to fake random rolls with the in-game looting sysstem.

Back in the days of EQ1, you could run a linux proxy with the 'ShowEQ' program running. it was a packet sniffer that could do all kinds of amazing things (radar, etc) and at one point, you could manipulate the /random rolls... not sure how long it lasted either...

If he's hacking the /rng, he's either an employee of sony or he knows something very few people know. Press him for more details, then report back here! :zorro:
