Randomly Stops Assisting

I could be halfway through a zone and then start to notice my dps start to drop. I will check the parse and notice I have 1 toon in my group that is at the bottom of the list deciding not to participate. My first check is to make sure I haven't left him behind.

When I switch over to that toon, it still has the tank targeted. Using debug, the bot is checking all buffs and casting only "in combat" type spells so there are only around 14 casting details scrolling by before the Main Loop restarts. It is not showing anything about the ca's or named ca's in this list.

All I have to do to get it to correct itself is hit "esc" which drops my target (the tank) and after a few seconds, it will re-target the tank and all is back to normal.

It happens randomly and seems to have started a few weeks ago, and now I've just been in the habbit of switching windows and hitting esc and moving on. Probably only happens once in a 2hr run, but seems to be happening daily.

Just wondering if anyone else is experience this?

I think it's an oldish bug that's become more common (since just before the TLE servers? not sure) very recently. At some point in the last week or so I ended up making an mcp button to relay an eq2execute target_none to minimize the aggravation when I notice it (like you, via ACT typically).

I USED to get that bug a long time ago. Years ago now? I haven't seen it in.. I'd say at least a year.
You COULD make the button primalz suggested, or you could just select [NoTarget] as the MCP command (which does the same thing) but saves you typing the command out
