REQUEST: Tutorial: Using Innerspace + ISXVG (for newbies)

Longtime EQ/MQ user testing the waters with IS and VG. Is there a possibility that a tutorial similar to the one posted in the EQ2 forums be birthed here?

My specific problem - and again let me state that I am about 1 hour into this, so my level of knowledge is lacking with regard to IS AND VQ - is, I think, that I load vaguard (without IS support) with the launchpad - the shortcut points to:

"C:\Program Files\Sony\Station\LaunchPad\LaunchPad.exe" /game:vanguard

When I selected the game exe for IS, I selected VGClient.exe. Now when I try to load VG through IS, the character select screen hangs. I think this is because I didn't have the opportunity to select the character I wanted to play?

I'm gonna keep toying around, but anyone who might be able to tip me off, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Not quite sure what you're asking (very tired) but if you're just wondering how to run IS and ISXVG through vanguard...

1. Start Innerspace
2. Right click the Red Target button and click Vanguard -> Default Profile
3. Log in
4. Open Console with Tilde. (button next to number 1... looks like " `")
5. Type "ext isxvg" without quotes and hit enter
6. If you're using the craftbot type runscript vgcraftbot

I'm having the same problem, I do not have a "Vangaurd.exe" file, I have VGclient.exe. I need to run through the launchpad.exe. If I try to run the vgclient.exe solo it hangs in the char select screen without showing any chars.

How do we do this?

There is a Vanguard.exe file in your vanguard installation. If you click on it, it runs the patcher.

I downloaded from the launchpad. I swear I do not have Vanguard.exe. I will do what I can to get it.

Log into the game without Inner Space. At the launch window with the "PLAY" button click on the button below "View Details" and click "Full Scan". It will take awhile for it to do this, so go have breakfast, lunch or a snack. This should find all old outdated, missing files and replace them.

Let me know if that doesn't help your problem.

Do you have a Vanguard icon or start menu item that you click to start Vanguard? If so, right click on it...choose 'properties', and see what it's calling in the "Target" field.

you SHOULD have a folder called vanguard within it a file called vanguard.exe


alternatively you could always do a system wide search for the file to find out where it is located...

If you have questions about Inner Space, then you need to go to ISMods.com or LavishSoft.com. This site is specifically dealing with EQ2 and Vanguard: SoH.

It would help if you were a bit more specific as to your needs.
