Slow to patch

I know I'm pretty new to ISXVG, so pardon me.

I've finally gotten things to run, and I'm happily leveling up my crafter with VGCraftBot, but some nights when I log in and try to run the script, it is "hit or miss" if I can get things working or not.

I started before the most recent mini-patch, and got things going, then post patch, I figured out that I had to remove the auto load and use "ext isxgv" ... no bit deal. But now, it seems hit or miss when I type in "run VGCraftBot" if it will scan and patch within the 120 second time frame allowed. I just came to the boards after trying 3 times to do it, and no luck.

I have a pretty high end system, with an ultra fast internet connection, so I don't know what it could be on my side, especially since I does work sometimes, and will run for hours once it loads.

I'm on Vista 64 if that helps (I couldn't get ISXVG and VGCraftBot to install and run on my XP machine).

after you hit 'ext isxvg' you need to wait until the patcher has completed and the extension says that it is *LOADED*. It sometimes takes quite a bit of time depending on your internet setup.

I do wait for that to not only say "finished", but the next line.

Then I type in the "run vgcraftbot". It seems that is what is timing out.

Is there an easy way I can possibly modify that script to make it wait say 4 minutes? If so, any idea what file to look at and if there is more than one place in that file?

I think I found it, in the vgcraftbot.iss file. Hopefully that is the only place needed.

Interesting.

Yesterday, I got home and fired up ISXVG and VGCraftBot, and BOTH patched in record time. I'm talking like under 10 seconds for each.

Well, first of all, ISXVG is still down today becuase I have not yet updated it for the patch.

Secondly, I updated vgcraftbot.iss and posted a new one on the release thread that doesn't use the patcher at all (for the script). You should download that anyway any time it updates.
