Strange EQ2Bot issue now...

I have been unable to create new paths in EQ2Bot using the Navigation tab and the Dungeon Crawl option. I've got the latest and greatest stuff from SVN, but I've tried it with two computers and two different toons (illusionist and fury) and neither was able to create paths.

Interestingly... both were able to use old paths I created.

When I choose to create a path, I check the Dungeon Crawl Pathing box then hit Start Pather. Normally, I would walk around and the Number of Regions created starts to increment. At the moment, the Number of Regions created never implements and no path is created.

Am I missing something? I'm not doing anything I haven't been doing for months.

I'm not sure why this would be broken, I'll let pygar look into that.

However, I can tell you that the new eq2navigation system creates the same pathing/map files that eq2bot used. You will just need to move the map files that are created from /scripts/eq2navigation/zones to /scripts/EQ2Bot/Navigational Paths/

Instructions on creating map files using the new system is here: http://www.isxgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2563

Thanks Amadeus. I created a path using the EQ2NavCreataor. I used the -auto -ptop and created a new path. Copied the file into the EQ2Bot Nav folder. But it wasn't recognized when I loaded EQ2Bot.

I then noticed that by default, the EQ2NavCreator uses Spheres and the other paths (created with EQ2Bot) use squares. So I went into EQ2Nav and used Ctrl-F2 to change to Box and created a new path. Still wasn't recognized.

I went in and manually editted the file to look more like a valid file - removed the initial sphere region, put in a start, etc. It was then recognized... but the path didn't work in EQ2Bot.

Any suggestions? Or will I need to wait for Pygar?

Hmm, I have no idea what would have been changed to break this.

Worse off, it will be some time before I can look into this, as this will require me to have spare 'in-game' time to diagnose.

Thanks for the info so far. Any other observations, etc, are appreciated.

Same here

I'm having the same issue as described above. Noticed it happening about....2 weeks ago maybe. I've been solo boting several different characters with no problems using the Dungeon Crawl method, and I also noticed that my number of regions was no longer increasing as I ran around creating my POI's. I've used it dozens of times prior with no problems. Something changed :(

I've also tired mutiple accounts and multiple PCs. No luck

+1 for me

Same here. Multiple accounts and multiple PCs. It used to work a couple of weeks ago. I went on vacation on the 15th and came back on the 26th, updated for GU45 and then noticed there was a problem if that helps narrow the time frame down any.

Not sure, I was just told on IRC that it was working again.

I'm not going to look into it unless we see it isn't working ;)

Results

Some interesting results:

After some tinkering with it yesterday, I was able to succesfully create a nav path and get the bot working. Either I was rusty though or something had changes. It didn't seem as "smooth" as it was prior taking me several tries to get it working. I figured well, this is good enough and got things working ok. I had to log off for a bit then came back an hour or so later when I logged in and moved to another zone and began to set up a new pull routine.

Now, the bot was hosed. When I went to the DC/Navigation tab, my old path was coming up in the POI box and the option to clear navigation and build a new one had dissappeared. I wasn't able to make a new path, nor clear the old one. I updated my SVN again and did the copy/paste of any new scripts again but no luck.

So, I guess to recap....at first glance I though..yeah I think we've got it back, but after playing around last night I'm still dead in the water with it. I think it still needs looking in to.

Bug

Did some more testing on additional PC's and classes. I was able to resolve the "clear navigation" tab issue on another PC which let me give it a clean run.

I created a pull routine and while my bot did run from start to finish, he would not stop at the POIs along the way and pull. He simply ran from START POINT to FINISH POINT (along the correct route yes), but if respawn was up he would continue running until he go to the finish before he would engage and then of course would die to having everything on him.

Tried this in several zones...all same results.

I am able to create paths and walk them again now. Although... occassionally... it will just sit there and not move then I must manually delete the path from explorer and re-run eq2bot and create a new path.
