Updating the FAQ on Ogre Wiki - A Community Effort

Hey guys, just something I've been thinking about lately and wanted to see if there was any interest in it. As a fairly new Ogre user (2-3 months maybe?) but a veteran eq2bot user, I've always been one to read up on forums and FAQ's/walk through's. When I first started with Ogre, it was a lot to take in because its 10x's more options then eq2bot. At first I had no idea on how to setup each class correctly, which radio buttons to have turned on and/or off, etc...

Fast forward.

I currently run a 5 toon crew with a 6th slowly in tow.

My current setup is:
Zerker/Brawler
Warden/Defiler
Dirge
Coercer
Assassin
and I'm working on an Inquis to replace the Warden.

What I am asking for, if anyone is interested (unless its been done already then I'll delete this post and move on with my life) is for anyone who has the time and knowledge of solid working setups to help and update the FAQ and help section found here: http://logan.warpigs.us/wiki/ogre/index.php/Ogre:FAQ

For the most part, I feel like I have a "decent" configuration for each one of my toons, however, none are raid geared for this expansion and none are maxed or even up to 250 AA...yet :eek:. but all are level 90. For myself, I use them to farm older tier raid zones (PR, of course) and run the newer instances to get caught up on gear and AA.

I plan on updating what I can in hopes that it will help someone else who may need to see what works and what doesn't. As of now I am still not 100% confident that I am maxing Ogre to its fullest ability and I'm pretty sure its user error, not having the correct radio buttons checked or unchecked as well as buffs, CA orders, maintained, IE/ID, etc setup.

It's just a suggestion for anyone who can contribute to the wiki and keep it updated as we tweak setups more and more.

Canoppener is working on updating the FAQ section with more information about class profiles. He has an example window to follow for those who want to add screen shots of their own. More screen shots the better - lets people see different setups etc.

It's a HUGE job to take that many screen shots, crop them, etc etc. Another option is, take a screen shot and post it (can be on the wiki, or at photobucket or something) of your CA tab or a few tabs and come to IRC. People can give you a few tips if they think something is a bit off.

That's where I plan to start myself. When I get some time I'll post up what I currently have for my classes so they can be tweaked then add them to the FAQ.

The basic setup for people to add their profiles is all laid out. The more profiles up their the better. If you aren't confident in adding a link to create a new profile that can be yours just talk to Kannkor or myself on IRC.

The more the better. It helps to see how other people set things up. Even if you don't use theirs, you might see something that gives you an idea in how to setup your bots better.

I'll try to post something this weekend. Basic setup and profiles may take a bit of time, but I intend to upload what I have....gonna try this weekend. Gonna try sanitized pics and xml's. xml's will be sanitized so all you should do is replace class name with your toonname....I think this will work.

I love my Fury and prefer to solo heal every zone if I can get away with it. I noticed that there isn't a config file/setup uploaded yet, so I think my Power Heal (+dmg avg 3-4K) profile would be a welcome edition.


I currently have 2 crews.

1st Crew:

Guardian, Brigand, Dirge, Wizard, Coercer, Fury (Brig T3 pre-DoV/all other DoV PQ gear)

All have ~ AA's 260+ / M1+ / DPS avg 100-110k in ToFS :D:D.
(Been up to fourth floor and only had to swap out Wizard for Templar on 2 fights.)


2nd Crew:
Zerker, Troub, Warlock, Coercer, Templar, and Defiler (Templar T3 pre-DoV/ all other DoV PQ gear)

All have <250 AA's / M1+ / DPS avg 55-70k in PR

I've been looking around for a Fury setup - do you think you could post those files if you get a chance? Or even SS's of the applicable tabs.... No experience playing a Fury, looking for a head start. Thanks in advance ;)
