Vanguard by no means sucks. If you played vanguard like 2 years ago.. then yes. It had a lot of problems and lacked content and support. Since SOE took charge they made it what it really should have been in the first place. EQ3.

I have many level 50s and i can tell you. I am always busy with a ton to do. Not just grind and make alts. The game is full of End Game content, so much content that even the highest level guild has not finished it all. There are epic weapons, APW, SoD faction. There is so much to do in terms of raising dps with items, potion. There are items you get from general faction, items you get from quests, items you get from named that raise your dps yet a little bit more. There are even items you get from diplo. There are new dusts that drop in the elite zones that even make crafting worthwhile and still major players in terms of specialized gear. Even the flying mount quest is worth doing cause of the perma buff effect it gives your char.

The end game mobs are dynamic and much of the strategies to kill them are still secrets and closely guarded by the end game guilds. Mobs are contested and the populations are just fine. Just the right amount of end game guilds fighting over mobs, so you have to anon and try to kill it. If you fail a few times you can bet someone else will jump in and take it.

There are even AA points and expanded levels coming out. Let alone even more end game content and they have yet to charge for any expansion. That is awesome.

Sure there are little bugs here and there, and if you have an old computer it is hard to play at full quality, but nothing that cant be solved with $700.

Anyway, i just had to vent a little. This game will be around a long time and according to the GM i talk to, populations are steadily growing, so more and more will be returning and finding it all it promised to be in the beginning, The ultimate hard core gamers game.

That's cool I guess. But, just so you know, ISXVG used to have about 500 subscribers, now it has about 80. At the same time, ISXEQ2 continues to grow in popularity...at almost 600 now.

I don't foresee VG becoming a hit at any point. It might be a novelty sometimes, but that's about it. I don't think it can overcome it's horrific launch. It needs a core of hard core players to make it function as a strong game, and all of those left after a couple of months and I don't think they'll be returning, regardless ...there are just too many other things out there to do/play that are better.

I have to agree with MMO on this one, Vanguard is slowly making a resurgence as many of the bugs left behind by McQuade and Co. are feretted out by SOE. One reason I see for the low subscribers of ISXVG is that many of the new players to VG are not really familiar with the ISXVG program. As word of mouth spreads about the availability of this program amongst trusted VG players the sub scriber base will hopefully expand as well.

Now that our VG boards are moving forward and several of us are taking over scripting. Just toss us a bone every month or so. We can pull customers back over.

I mean, hell, the only reason why i would play EQ2 is to be a part of the team of scripters over there. The community of isx draws people to it. A our community becomes more active more people will join us just cause we are here!

80 is not dead.. we just need help rebooting

I will look at feature requests and bug reports and work on them as I can. I did a *LOT* of work on VG in the beginning, so honestly most of the things is already there ..a lot of stuff is in the extension that no script has ever used even.

What I need to do many things is access to a full geared high level character ...or, an account with several characters at high levels of various classes. If anyone wants to share that with me they can email to amadeusmq@yahoo.com ...I won't play it, but I can test with it to add the feature requests that you want or find the bugs that you mention when the account is not being used (ie, in the middle of the night or during the day.)

Without an account like this it is hard for me to do anything but "maintain" the extension. I do not make enough from the extension right now for it to be worth me spending the time to level up characters.

Also, it is true, if I started seeing new scripts or new versions of old scripts start popping up on the forums I would probably take more interest in things, that's for sure. I will try and see if Karye will send me the source for diplobot next time I see him online too ..I've been meaning to do that.

You know what? You're right.

I don't know if it will matter or not in the end. But, I have tried it again and agree with you. SOE has really made a difference -- it's too bad that Sigil sucked ass so bad.
