Working as Intended?

I just realized that on my healers when i add a combat group heal/buff and list the same healer whos casting as the target that it never gets cast.

am i doing something wrong? did i forget a button somewhere? or is this a bug?

i switched the target to someone else in the group and it works fine.

mainly on my warden i like to precast my group healing spells just once when combat starts and i select myself as target as i know ill always be in range.

i also noticed that one of my spells that just says combat on my priority tab casts over and over as if it was a maintained spell.

the way i understood the combat function on the priority tab to work is that anything listed combat will cast once at the beginning and thats it, unless the maintained is marked.

any ideas?

Please give me exactly what it says in the priority tab.

Also, is your priest in combat at the time? (the your tank being engaged does not mean your warden is, yet).

Your Warden is not in combat at the time, so it doesn't cast a Combat buff (that being your heal) on him. If you go into combat by clicking the melee attack button, you will notice it does cast it.

Combat spells cast as long as you are in combat. Maintained spells do NOT cast on that target as long a it is currently being maintained on that target.

So, yes. Working as intended.

ahh

ah ha

i think that explains it... a lot of times ill start combat by having the tank self target and click attack to cycle the buffs... i guess this isnt starting the combat cycle for the priests. however when i have the heal set to combat and the target is tank id does start the pre heals.

Because your tank is in combat.. it checks the target of the ability.. if they in combat = cast.
