I have been out-of-town since Wednesday morning on a business trip. Honestly, I forgot to install IRC on this machine, which is why it's been "out of sight, out of mind". I also assumed that the patch on Tuesday would be the only one for this week, especially how close we are to the holidays. Finally, this hotel barely has internet, so it's been very difficult to do anything.
I am looking right now to see if I make something happen before I leave today; however, I don't really have the resources I really need, so there are no promises. Otherwise, I will be home at around 11 p.m. TONIGHT (Pacific Time) and I will update ISXEQ2 as soon as I am home.
Finally, with regard to source code, Cybertech does have access to the code and I'm sure he would take care of matters (either learning how to update it efficiently and/or releasing it publically if something were to happen to me.) But, for something like this (2 days of downtime), it's not worth his time or energy to work on it. It's not that it's necessarily difficult; however, it is annoying and I've done it for so many years now that I know how to do it efficiently and quickly ...while, it would be a hassle for anyone else to learn, especially given that the downtime would be between 2-3 days. You all will survive.
It's the nature of this type of software. You are all at the mercy of when SOE wants to patch the file, and sometimes it will be at times when I am not available -- so, you just have to wait. If you want someone to be irritated at, be irritated at SOE for changing the code a year or so ago that requires that EVERY patch be "forced'. There was a time when small patches didn't require an ISXEQ2 update and we could go a couple months without any forced patches....but, they changed it where every little thing requires a complete ISEQ2 update. And, there's nothing I can do to change that (or automate it.)
Anyway, long story short, you'll either magically see the extension update within the next few hours (with no IRC announcement) or it will be updated probably betetween 11 pm and midnight late tonight (pacific time.)
