6box composition question

Just wondering...

How far would, say a 6box of all the same class be able to progress?

Started a 6box necro group. into late 20's currently and slaughtering everything in its path.

How well would a group like that do late game? Be able to take on the tougher dungeons, ect?

No.

IMO, it's a stupid idea.. but hey, to each their own. A class like... a shaman or inq would work best, cause you'd have endless healing, and they do pretty solid melee damage when speced for it.

One Shot Problem

Honestly I think that you'll start having a real problem if you try any of the TSO zones (shadow odyssey expansion), and especially once you get into kunark and mobs start hitting harder (clothe armor doesn't really stand up to it well). Definately not going to be able to take any high level content.

They'll start getting one shotted.

ehh. is what i thought.

Kinda fun though to have a swarm of pets running around.

Going to keep them for farming purposes or something i think.. but going to make a traditional 6box group for working towards end game.

Though dunno yet, time will tell. Want to pop most AoE dps as i can yet be able to do heroics.

I was pro zerker for a very long time. At this stage, I still do not see a single reason to run a zerker. Okay, 100% AE auto attack instead of 70% AE auto attack. But is 30% worth what other classes have over them? Hell no.

Not running a troub in a caster group is not worth it. A troub increases damage a ton.

Not having movement speed in dungeons is also not worth it.

The def/myst.. both are good. I'm still undecided which I think is better.

I have always been, and probably always will be, anti-druids. They bring nothing to the table (IMO). A shaman (aka wards alone) makes them 10000 times better than a druid.

While I'll agree that without gear, a shaman healing over a druid helps with survivability a ton, I run [inq, warden, sk, dirge, swash, illy] (yes i know a weird setup somewhat, but half of them are what I used to raid with and have not betrayed yet/ever). At first in DoV before my toons were geared with some EM raid gear, having a warden healing over a shaman sucked in the x2/x4 zones, but now I don't notice the difference between the warden and the alt mystic. The warden also puts out about 30k dps if it doesn't have to do more than maintain group HoTs, whereas the mystic only maintaining a single target ward on the tank does about 18k including pet damage.

edit: Also, having a warden is nice for nature walk on one-grouping Mikill in Thronex4

There's a reason that berserkers & guardians are the MT's during raids nowadays. The berserker especially, for the longest time, was an insane tank for anything heavy hitting as they have a lot of tools at their disposal.

However, recently Guardians (or so I'm told) have become usable tanks again with the Velious expansion. Crusaders will NEVER be able to out tank a Zerk/Guard. Their class is just too squishy for what a zerk & guard can do. :D

While I agree, when shit is super easy, what type of healer you have doesn't matter, than more content comes that curbstomps you, and a girlie little warden falls short on keeping the group alive.

As for Mikill, that's such a stupid fucking encounter. They made 1 fight in the game that requires 1 specific class to make it completely trival. Stupidest shit in the world (yes, I sub in a warden for that ONE fight then log him the fuck off).

me myself i prefer to use one healer only in groups ,, my new setup is sk,warlock,wizard,coercer,troub,defiler and i can rape anything.. but thats my main group for playing i also have 14 more accounts cause i can 20 man most any raid zone...

I'd like to see you clear drunder zones with 1 priest.

that will come soon enough., people said back in sf zua hm couldnt be done with 1 healer but i cleared it with 1..where theres a will theres a way.

That's exactly my point. You can't do it now, you have to wait until you are over geared or they nerf it.

Which is fine... but giving people a false impression that all the zones can be equally done with 1 and 2 priests is just silly.

Trying to get some ideas here as to what would best round out my team as well. Currently running a 4 box with pally, mystic, dirge, assassin. Would like to move to 6 boxing and am thinking to add an inquisitor to my group and also would like to add an enchanter. Can't decide between illy and coercer though. Any advice?
