Adding Another Account Suggestions

Hey all. I am currently running 3 toons in the following setup:

PC # 1
Guardian --> Controlled by me
Illusionist --> Botted

PC # 2
Warden --> Botted

PC # 1 spec's are:
Intel Pentium D CPU 3.20 GHz (2CPUs)
2046 MB Ram
NVDIA GeForce 6800 256 MB

If I were to upgrade it to 4 gigs of ram, do you think that I would be able to run another account on it?

Also, with my current setup I can kill the first 4 named in COA, but can't kill the last four SK type named. What usually happens is my healer runs out of power before the mob is dead. To solve this I was going to get another account.

What would you all recommend?
Another healer? If so, why?
Another DPS? If so, why? Which eq2bot pushes out the most dps?

Any other comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your responses.

another healer would be good and make it possible but I belive the warlock is the biggest dps bot right now. I see mine do over 2k all the time. he is sick

Hah. First of all, to run 4 gigs you'd have to load Vista, which defeats the purpose of adding the extra RAM. (XP will only recognize 3 gigs - unless they've finally fixed this with SP3 RC1)

Also, you're going to be pushing that graphics card really hard. I would suggest spending the money on upgrading to dual SLI cards, if you're wanting to run more graphics intensive applications. :)

Except IS gives us the ability to not render frames in non active windows, so it doesn't stress the video card much. I've successfully run 3 bots on a system with much lower specs.

You can probably stack 3 on PC #1 with some more ram thrown in and some serious performance configuration for it.

I have to wonder though, could you upgrade pc#2 to a dual core? Cause that would likely be the better alternative.

As far as what class to add in. I would be leaning towards a dps class. Faster kills means needing less power.

With your current make-up. I would add caster based dps to be augmented by the time compression from your illus. Warlock and Conjuror jump out at me.

Conji has lots of utility, additional shards for power, coth is very handy for bot groups, they add ~450 to all resists including mitigation, and they are easily configured for dpsing solo mobs vs encounters.

Warlock will do a bit more dps though, and likely will get an even bigger benefit from TC.

I wouldn't go with another healer, you just don't have enough dps in that group to look at doubling up healers.

How do I tell IS not to render frames in non-active windows? This would be of great help on one of my lower end machines and allow me to run 2 bots on it instead of just 1.

Configuration , FPS limiter , set the frames for background to 0 , though I have mine set to 5.

How much ram do you think I would need?

I wish I could, but it's an older Dell laptop. 1.7GHZ Processor with 1.2Gigs of ram

After you're finished with the Illusionist dps revamp, I hope that this solves my dps problem. Currently, when I play my Illusionist I can really push out some dps around 1.5k in groups, 2.8k in raids. But the non streamlined bot only does about 500 dps if that in a 3 box scenario.

If you are going to upgrade ram on that machine, you may as well go to 2 gigs, windows xp doesn't bother to use anything above that anyway, and 2 gigs isn't all that expensive.

I'm not upgrading the second computer because it just isn't worth it. With that current system, I can barely run EQ2 on it with minimal settings. I wouldn't even try it with 2 sessions running.

32 bit operating systems have a 3 gig ram cap, 64 bit operating systems have I think about a 32 gig cap.

You can install and use up to 3 gigs on regular XP however it will be slower as you lose your dual channel configuration (where it doubles memory bandwith)(requires matched ram)

Unless he is running XP 64Bit.

I tried to do that but could not figure it out. I opened the console and tried typing that in and did not work so then I tried typing command and then FPS but I did not know what to do next sorry if this sounds stooped but I am still learning how to use this program. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Note, he said Configuration, not console.

Right click your IS icon and go to configuration. The settings are in there.
