Controlling multiple PCs from one PC using ISXVG

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way to send commands and react to commands for multiple PCs? I have 4 PCs and want to use ISXVG and my G15 keyboard to send commands to my other characters on my other PCs. Each of the other PCs would be running thier own custom bot for thier class that would change thier behaviour based on the commands.

I don't want to do this using in-game tells.

Thanks
J.

Sorry wrong forums for your question

I'm sorry, but the website you have posted your question in is the wrong one. For issues with Inner Space, please see www.lavishSoft.com, or join the chat at irc.lavishsoft.com and join #ismods. You can also go to ISMods.com to ask your question.

Your question relates in no way to ISXVG, but it does relate to Inner Space. And yes, it is possible to do what you want. That is all the answer you will get. You need to go to the right source for more.

But you might want to search for uplink

Thanks GP1001 for the pointer that was all I needed to help me out.

If I want to run multiple assist-bots in Vanguard this seemed like a good place to ask the question, maybe other people here would use what I would write if I ever get it working. Or it may have even been done by somebody here.

I have no idea what aChallenged1's problem is, or if that his standard response to people that have a simple question on these forums? I asked for help because I had spent hours looking through all the forums here and then spent another hour or 2 looking through the Lavish forums but couldnt find the answer.

Sometimes people know what they are looking for but can't phrase it correctly so that it will show up in search engines. There is no need to patronize someone because of this.

Some people get a little burnt out on answering the same questions allot.
I dont think he was being rude or condiscending at all. he was just stating that you wouldn't find any info here at isxgames.com
Also, he is a moderator if i am not mistaken, so its his job to police the forums.
But your welcome none the less.

Sorry, you're mistaken. LOL

I don't have a problem 'pig' with simple questions. However, people don't seem to pay any attention when they are handed anything. So, I explained that you were asking your question in the wrong place and directed you to where you'd find the help you need. If you wish to ignore my attempt at pointing you in the right direction, that is your business, I don't give a fuck. But don't come bitching about me giving you good info, just because you think I'm a rude fucker.

By the way, sonny, you need to grow up and become more responsible reguarding everything. Nobody owes you anything, so be grateful when you are given help and assistance.

BTW, I'm not patronizing. Read my previous post again. I provided specific locations to look. That doesn't mean you stop a www.lavishsoft.com, there's a wiki there too and that contains a LOT of the info you're looking for. But yes, uplink is where you'll want to start.

Uplink is an Inner Space based function, not ISXVG.

I asked politley if anyone could help me. I did not demand anything or think anybody owed me anything as you seem to think.

I dont need to grow up its you. If you seem to think that swearing, being rude and insulting people is 'grown up', then you have some serious issues.

Thanks Karye for the pointers. I did find the uplink stuff in the wiki.

Is it OK to take the eqbotcommander code and make a VGBotCommander plugin? I have managed to tweak it to get it partially working in VG so far.

I will then see if I can modify the shaman assist bot to create a VGAssistBot template.

Thanks

ISXIRC is another option. I know of a couple of people that simply have all their characters log into an irc channel (on a private or public server) and then the characters simply echo out what they're doing and you can sit and watch them all go at it.

Then, you can issue commands to all or the characters by just talking in the irc channel. The possibilities are endless.

Yes the eq2botcommander code is free to use.

I may post my ISXIRC remote bot scripts that I use to monitor my WoWBot from work. I wrote a watchdog script that keeps my IRC wrapper script running, I trigger all chat and send it to IRC. I look for incoming text from my IRC nick and treat those as bot commands.

I am able to chat anyone that /say or /whispers my bot from my IRC client as well as load, pause, resume, and take screenshots via IRC. I setup a web page so that I can view those screenshots. I am basically botting on my home system and monitoring from work.

I wrote a ISXTelnet extension that I load from the InnerSpace console. This allows me to start a game using "Open <game> <profile>". My system could reboot and with IS loaded at startup, I can have my bot running again inside of a few minutes from anywhere in the world with Telnet/IRC access.

Haha Joe. Some of my friends and I had the same setup for macroquest. The only thing we never got around to doing was setting up text messages, IMs, or emails on incoming tells. That would prolly be fairly easy now with ISXAIM.

if you look around, somebody has already released my code on the boards which will allow you to use IRC to control a char (including being able to make him chat (auto or manually) in any channel). Easy enough to make it work for more than one.

You can issue ANY IS, ISXVG or VG command with it... just might take a bit of effort on your* part to get it up and running. If that's a barrier for you*, then just skip it and wait for somebody to hold your* hand and give you a complete package.

*you/your is ANYBODY reading this and is interested.

Don't use ISXAIM if you can help it. There are solutions online for utilizing an irc server system to interface with all instant messenger services. Then, if you need it to do email (ie, email your cell phone), you can use .NET libraries that are available online (if your app is C#) ...or if it's lavishscript, use ISXPoco, which has sendmail functionality.
