EverQeust2.exe - Entry Point Not Found

After starting isxeq2 the folling error pop's up:
EverQeust2.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point _exept_handler4_common could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll.

ISXEQ2 is not loading after clicking the OK button from this error. So I completely deinstalled "Inner Space" and "ISXEQ2" and "emptied" the "InnerSpace\Extensions" folder. Than I reinstalled both programs and configured ISXEQ2 in the "Inner Space" configuration menue. After starting ISXEQ2 this upper mentioned error appeard again and after clicking ok the isxeq2 cli appeard (Extension 'isxeq2' loaded) - included the "isxGames Authentication" screen. I entered my ISXEQ2 subscription datas (isxGames Login and password) and clicked the "Save" button. On the end of this "isxGames Authentication" screen it is than typing out "Ready..." and freezes, nothing else happend. The Windows Task Manager status is telling "Not Responding". The entered subscription datas are "NOT" saved and the process is repeating every time I try to start isxeq2.
I have same authentication process trouble with the isxeve subscription, which I also reinstalled while having problems which I mentioned earlier in the EVE-Section.

What to do now?

Yea I was getting that error when EQ2 patched in a bunch of directx dll's. I just deleted d3d11.dll from the eq2 directory and I no longer get the error.

Deleting this d3d11.dll file solved the "EverQeust2.exe - Entry Point Not Found"-Error but the "isxGames Authentication" screen is still not doing its job and freezing.

Im also am having issues with that error: "The Procedure point _entry_excepthandler4_common could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll" I put my posts in the "Tutorials, Questions and Answers" "I keep getting stuck at ISXGames Patcher. Any ideas?" Area. I have tried all kinds of things I just cant seem to get anything to work.

I am SO glad someone else posted, I too am having this issue, JUST on my XP box though not the win7 comps of which there are 2. I was losing my mind trying to figure this out!
any help is appreciated!
I even asked my bf for help but he is even less computer lit than I am *sigh*

Thanks in advance for your help!

**note** I deleted the dll that was mentioned earlier in this post, which cleared the error message however, when I load isxeq2 it authenticates and then freezes at :isxGamesPatcher:Starting
never goes any farther and I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything from innerspace to isxeq2,and updated all the files with svn.

Which version of Windows are you using? Is Firefox installed? What anti-virus software are you using?

I believe it is affecting Windows XP users. Honestly, you should update your operating system -- we (or anyone else) cannot keep supporting it forever. It was replaced 5 1/2 years ago -- it's time to upgrade.

And, yea, ignore my idea about installing ISXIM ..I forgot that it very much does require Windows Vista or later.

Lax said that you can try installing an older version of innerspace to see if that is the issue: http://www.lavishsoft.com/innerspace/archives ...just be sure that you don't click the 'patch' button to update it.

I'm downloading a windows xp vmware image to see if I can duplicate it.

You are so wonderful! all fixed
I replaced my current innerspace build with the one just previous and it all loads just fine now.

I would LOVE to upgrade my OS however work requires XP and that's what I'll keep using for that box, until such a time as I can change it out. Luckily I mainly play on my W7 boxes, this is my crafting/work box.

Thank you so very much for your prompt and very successful help!

I tried Build 5642, 5578 and 5564 with no avail (5616 wasn't working?) I still get the error popping up and ISX won't load. Its now happening on my second computer I use (both running XP) saying C:/Program File/Innerspace/Extensions/isxeq2/dll could not be loaded into memory as a Win32 library Extension "ixseq2" could not be loaded instead of being stuck at patching.

Pinky, sounds like you have a badly patched copy of the ISXEQ2 DLL, have you tried reinstalling ISXEQ2 and running the patch again (with build 5642 of IS if needed on XP)?

I'm up and running on my secondary XP machine by:
- Deleting d3d11.dll file in EQ2 folder. (though entry point error does not affect game)
- Rolling back to InnerSpace 1.11 build 5642

This bug has been around forever. If you reboot the computer, it should go away. Either that, or just redownload isxeq2 from http://www.isxgames.com/isxeq2/Extensions/ISXEQ2.dll and place it in your /innerspace/Extensions.

Just as a FYI for everyone: Lax knows about this issue and is mystified, but thinking about it I think. We're fairly sure it primarily affects Windows XP users. We also believe that reverting to an earlier build of innerspace should fix it. I can also state that it is most likely not ISXEQ2, since it is also happening for other extensions (i.e., it does appear to be an innerspace issue.)

Woot!! Im working! Thanx Guys! Backed up my script folder then I deleted everything in the innerspace folder and restarted then I reinstalled from their websites innerspace and isx. U have to be fast to un check that auto update on innerspace and close it otherwise it will repatch everything and your back to step 1. After u have a nice fresh install just get the old version http://www.lavishsoft.com/innerspace/archives I picked the first one in the list and just copy pasted it over the new installed innerspace. Note when I tried to just paste the old version on my current one it just kept crashing like before. Then I copied over all the script stuff I had backed up.. Thanx again for the help and Good luck guys.

Yes, it's true, I still have the WindowsXP 64bit Version and my new computer with the newest Windows OS is on its way, but still I have to use the old one for a while till I have "shifted" everything to the new computer. Than I will replace the XP 64bit from the old computer with a new Windows 7 version.

For solving the present problems I replaced my present "Inner Space"-Folder with a backup from March this year and I got everything to work. To avoid the patch from "Inner Space Uplink"-Window I quick untickmarked "Always patch at startup" and interrupted the update attempt which had popped up.

Thanks to everyone which helped with all this issues and Special thanks to "The Maestro"!:)

I was able to replicate the bug using a Windows XP SP3 vmware image within vmware. I made a small video and sent it to Lax. He also knows about this thread.

So, for now, the solution is to either upgrade past Windows XP or downgrade your InnerSpace installations to one of the earlier versions I mentioned in a previous posting in this thread.
