It makes no sense to me why people would spend money, and then use an email address that uses a dumb ass spam filter that doesn't even give you the OPTION of seeing what is being filtered.

For god's sake use hotmail or yahoo or something for things like this. Even if they filter it, you can still get it and it doesn't bounce back to me.

I found that gmail accepts rar as long as I use a password on the files (ie, you can't open it without a password.)

If you don't use a password, then gmail will reject rar files (or, at least it used to anyway).

Gmail doesn't accept .exe extentions, including conpressed .exe's. Using the password prevents them from reading what type of file you are sending compressed.

You can always do what I do in cases like that...

Change the extention to something stupid that is not a true extention.

MyStupidRARFile.WTF

Just put a note in the body of the email telling the person to change the ext to the proper one. No problem.

Or, the dumb shit service providers could give consumers the option of turning the damn filter off.

there's one constant in this, and those service providers know it. People are stupid. Individuals may be smart, but People (as a group) are stupid. it's like the idiots float to the top, and make the most noise about their idiocy. If they allowed .exe extensions, a few thousand idiots would get viruses and complain about it.

My hotmail accounts all have 1gig of space now, and can send/receive much larger files than in the past. I do not know if it prevents dll, exe, etc. to be sent though.

RAR files shouldn't be marked as dangerous files anyways... my MSN lets me send them, but blocks MP3 as dangerous... funny thing right.

Amadeus, here's a thought if it could be done... Allow attachments to be PM'd over this forum, then just msg your donators directly to their forum acct. with the file attached.. Anyone downloading it would have to be logged in to that acct..
