My laptop is literally 7 or 8 years old.. I'm just at home so much now, that buying a new laptop just doesn't make my list since how rarely I use it.

And how, exactly, did you end up with the new launcher? Not to mention, the new launcher works fine for me on beta, running the .exe directly. Are you sure you aren't using the streaming client?
