Leveling your toons

Did u guys just do the quests or grind it out?
Im almost done with the quest chain to open the instances and almost 91 ( I'm on the part to open the 3rd one) Seems like the skyshrine contested doesn't give much exp, I was curious if contested KD gave more or not if anyone knows if not I'll check it tonight.

I am grinding characters since I have a few and then hitting new zones. I only quest if it is needed to get in to zones or has a reward better than drops. My wife will do the quests most likely.

do the heroic line quests you get some pretty nice gear.. the new raid zone is ez also. ive downed 2 names in there and im only 91 and there red. lol..

Yeah, I finished most of it and got the shoulders i just want to grind out the rest so i can actually use it i guess before I jump into any of the new harder stuff, although it seems like the new stuff is not hard at all.

This may be a good reminder, don't bot in open zones where others are playing. Don't fight over the stupid spawn in contested skyshrine for the quest. Think about it, if you piss someone off taking "their" (I realize no one owns it, but it's in their eyes) mob with a bot group, do you think they won't petition you, to get "even"?

It sucks, but run 1-2 toons around at a time, avoid people, or risk the ban hammer.

Yeah that's why I was thinking KD would be a good gring spot, and yeah when doing that quest line I don't get in anyone's way and didn't do the part to kill the golom until it was empty, same for the ground spawn part.

I get about 2k exp per kill in Kael Contested. The problem I have is that 5 of my 6 toons are silver. The silver accounts can't move their slider from 50%AA to 0% AA. So my 5 toons are leveling very slowly compared to my paid account (half as slow).

If anyone has a semi-decent instance spot to AFK, would you mind PM'n me? I have no expectations anyone is going to give their prime info to a 1-post n00b. But I swear, if I visit Chelsith one more time I'm going to /slit.

I've found one mid-level spot, but it's not all that great. Too slow; too low. And I thought I hit pay dirt on a 75ish spot, but it quits after about 20-30 repops. :/

Yeah, thats how good spots get out to everyone who thinks it's great to share them, and then they get nerfed because everyone knows a spot to afk grind.

R.I.P. the many, many great spots that are forever gone because of this.

I dont buy this at all. if youre doing this in an instance, its not affecting the play of others AT ALL. i highly doubt sony would nerf content like this to keep people from running bots. more bots = more money for sony. they are not going to discourage that behavior. not trying to start a flame war, but this makes zero sense and its NOT why intance content gets nerfed.

It is precisely why xp gets nerfed chelish used to give almost 3k per kill now 200. May not be from botting but from people telling other about it.

I did the raid zone access questline at 90 on all my characters , that got me from 90 to 91.8 on each character , then 8-10 kills in the contested and ding 92.

It's the best XP in the new addon.

Chelsith globes nerfed for this reason.
Fyremist Gully nerfed for this reason.
Cazic Thule Instance respawning mobs at the top nerfed for this reason.
The Hole --- Nerfed
Nest of the Great Egg --- Nerfed

I could keep going, but those are all the ones I could think of off the top of my head. If you find a good instances AFK grind spot, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF! SOE does care about afk botting and will ban you for it and eventually will close down any loopholes.

The best example of this is the whole Chelsith thing on the official forums. Some guy posted about it on the official forums about people killing the globes over and over. It spawned a huge thread about people AFK killing, as well as, people just repeatably killing stuff in an instance. The instances was nerfed the next patch.

Don't kid yourself... There are a lot of players in this game who really frown upon AFK playing and botting.

Not only do they frown apon botting but there are people that make it their duty to report any exploit in the game no matter how small. When BG came out i duped a mater spell and told the guild and some were like OMG you took advantage of an exploit.

So like BJ says don't fool yourself! There are people in this game that are stupid and no other resemblance of a life!

I was suspended right before SoE went down for security issues.. Because I Power Leveled a Sin to max lvl with max AA"s and a guildy tried to get into the group, he couldn't so he all of a sudden felt that it was wrong so he petitioned me. GM caught me "Auto leveling" and got me 7day ban, than the Servers weren't down which lead to a 1months also downtime :*(

Some people are just jerks, imo if you use your scripts against computers (PvE) SoE shouldn't care, especially if your on a dead server.. If you use your scripts against players "PvP" than I can see where an issue may arise, I pause my scripts when jumped in pvp, I feel it's wrong and just take the death

If you find out let me know pls.. My wife was wanting to make another alt and I am diffidently not going to run the same ol content, haven't done that in years.. till they revamp it, I refuse too

Just get a toon to 10, switch to AAs and PL it to 320, then grind/PL up to 79 and pull it into a SS group even if just on autofollow. The xp there is retarded. It'll die alot, esp at first, but ignore the gear damage and just keep going. The debt from a death will more then be wiped in one pull. Just run circuits in contested or heroic and drop the appropriate gear on that toon so when you get it to 92 it will have a decent start.

The only annoying part is the grind from ~65 to 79.. the rest is fairly fast.

If you find one to replace Anathema (3 x-packs ago) Keep it hush hush


The problem with these places is the greed that takes over or the "autoing in guild halls" guildies see u in there night and day and start to investigate..

If you find a place:
1) Remove Pl'r and Pl'ee out of guilds
2) Anonymous / Role-play tag both players involved
3) Don't help anyone unless they can trust you with their account, if not, than how are you suppose to trust them in keeping it hush hush?
4) Don't tell anyone, you PL people on your own computer using their account.. Don't let them be on their account while ur doing it

~~The PL'ing spots are from original content / 1-2 xpacks into the game, Eventually they will fix it and when they do there will be no more.. Sony has implemented repeated xp in instances to be removed in all future content, so it's this old content or nothing~~

It's the people in channels spamming for "AFK Pl'ing in Anathema" that got this fucked for us.. People been doing it on Nagafen for easily a year now, it's those people who ruin places like this for us, we have to do things to protect this from happening..
