Memory Leak?

If i run EVE with EVEBot it goes up high high until it uses all my memory, with my 2 gig it goes up to 1.7GB memory usage until it stalls and crashs.

I don't really play anymore so i don't know if it happens without isxeve / eveboot too - anyone with the same problem?

And yes i installed the last "memory leak" patch, didn't change a thing, cache is set to low.

If i run 2 or 3 clients like I'm used to two of them hook up all the memory, freeze the third one and then freeze each other until nothing is moving anymore.

I've had some similar problems but mine usually peaks at 700mb and then dips back down to 300-400

Although sometimes it keeps going until i restart.

If it crashes theres always a miner bot running, never happens with missioner

I have the exact same problem. I just purchased ISXEve last night, loaded up Evebot and it crashes every hour or so from using all my memory.

Any suggestions?

Hello, in ratting mode isxeve crashes every 2 - 3 hours. It seems to leave the client semi hanged because i always found myself in pod when i come back.

I installed windbg and got the output by following the "Send Crash Report" topic, still i was unable to find the e-mail addresses, anyone knows where to send those reports?

For me this has started happening after the installation of Empyrean Age. I was hoping by installing the optional patch that it would fix it but it hasn't really been any help.

I was running at 1280 x 1024 - 32 bit depth and 32 bit z-buffer and it use to run prefect. I decided to try differnet settings and haven't found any that work. Here are the ones I have tried:

1024x768 - 16 bit depth - 16 bit z-buffer
1280x1024 - 16 bit depth - 16 z-buffer
1024x768 - 32 bit depth - 32 z-buffer
1024x768 - 24 bit depth - 16 z-buffer

I have tried them all with the cache at high, low, and off. I have turned the audio off thinking that would help and it hasn't.

It seems no matter what I have tried it usually mines for about 2 or 3 hours then starts lagging really bad. After another hour or 2 it gets to the point that the whole system stalls and then only choice you have is to pull the power plug.

I was coming to the forums to see if anyone else was having it and if there was a fix. At least now I know I am not the only one having the problem now we have to see if we can figure out what to do to fix it.

Same Here

I have the same problem, purchased ISXEVE a couple of days ago and memory just keeps going up. I have turned Cache etc off.

To clarify this only happens with Evebot running not with just ISXEVE running.

I grabed the older Evebot97 off the SVN and it does not seem to have the same problem. I have been running it for the last 2 days and it used up all my memory once. All other times it has been perfect.

I do use VIsta x64 so it could have something to do with it. Im gonna install XP on another HDD and try botting from there on the latest from SVN.

I have noticed that it happens with only isxeve up and not evebot too. It does take longer though. I played for about 5 hours yesterday without evebot up but with isxeve loaded and the same thing happened.

Now I have tried it by loading isxeve and just letting it sit there for 10 hours doing nothing and it doesn't seem to affect it. So it has to do something with isxeve loaded and not dropping cache maybe.

I was running into this last night. I was just using Evebot 647 for mining. Anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes it would suck up all my RAM and lock up.

I downgraded to revision 623 and it still did it. Downgraded again to 599 and that seems to be working fine. Might incriment up 1 revision at a time to try and pinpoint when it starts.

It would be helpful to pinpoint exactly which revision added the memory leak so I could see what method/member is being called that's causing the problem.

I would suggest reverting the release version back to one that doesn't have this problem, if it isn't already.

*a hour of testing later*
Revision 601 is the last memory stable version - with every version afterwards it fills the memory at roughly 100 kb/second ^^

I wonder why i didn't start from 599, instead i went down from the latest version :D

Well, after the patch yesterday I wanted to try it again to see if it was maybe an eve problem and they saw a memory leak. After running it for 9 hours yesterday and so far almost 2 hours today it looks like the problem may be fixed. It ran prefect with no memory leaks or problems at all.

This may be too early without other people trying it too but it looks like it was a problem on CCPs side that has now been fixed.

I started two bots, same system, same ship, same ice belt.

First char with Revision 659 started at 311 MB Memory and went up to 347 slowly increasing.

Second char is running Revision 601, started at 211 and is stable at 188 MB.

Both bots running for 3h now. So there IS a evebot memory leak but it's not THAT worse anymore ^^

I'm using EVE Classic, cache set to Low with 2 GB system memory.

Try turning off the Blacklist option if its set on.
Fixed my issues before Amadeus patch yesterday (which also fixed it)
