If you're getting a message like that it means that you're not using the right version of ISXEQ2. From where did you acquire the installation file for isxeq2? Also, did you recently install innerspace? (You need to have installed innerspace, not just copied it to the computer.)

In other words, you need to follow my installation/setup instructions exactly as I have them on the website.

this is the error i got the first time so i went to this link and followed EXACT directions and even tried the .dll http://www.isxgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4442

i deleted the isxeq2.xml file because everytime i typed in "ext isxeq2" at this point instantly locks up eq2 every time... no errors, just pure lockup/crash at which point i have to ctrl-alt-del it closed

even tho i have the correct exe and .dll now and it is successfully authenticated... i get this crash every time.... >.< if this is because im on win 7 and not xp... i guess i can do a partition and install xp/eq2 just for when i want to use isxeq2 but omg thats annoying

Also... this is a fresh install of everything and followed "to the T" the install guide for isxeq2 ont he main website. i had authentication problems so i had to turn UAC back on and then do the "takeown" commands etc. but other than that had no real problems

hopefully this is more informative, and what you guys need... sorry about the vague initial post

Try following the instructions on this page: http://www.isxgames.com/HOWTOs/HOWTO-Manually_Enter_ISXEQ2_Sub_Info.html

The problem is most likely that you're not using Windows 7 as an administrator.

Also, after you're logged in as administrator. Redownload and install ISXEQ2 from http://www.isxgames.com/isxeq2/ISXEQ2.exe (The isxeq2 installer only works if you actually "installed" InnerSpace.) If that still gives you the ISXDK version 32 crap, then manually download http://www.isxgames.com/isxeq2/Extensions/ISXEQ2.dll and place it in your /innerspace/Extensions directory.

The error shows the old error for the interface changes that Innerspace added, from lax.

Try the latest isxeq2.dll, Ive attached mine .. i hope that isnt violating anything.. since it does require the xml and authentification i didnt think an issue.

But i thought there was a problem updating from that old pre interface changes.

Put that dll in the \InnerSpace\Extensions dir, right.
...

Well I couldnt get the dll to attach, try the download from here. But I thought it was an auto update issue.

just an update... i took all of the files that i was installing with on windows 7... and installed on my xp copy and isx works perfectly... the issue is with compatibility with my windows 7 obviously? so if i want to use isx i just have to restart into xp =/ pretty lame

Uhh.. no. It most certainly works on windows 7. I do believe it's not working on YOUR windows 7, but I can certainly assure you it's not all of windows7. I know at least a dozen people if not more who use windows 7 with no issues.

At this stage, where are you crashing again? Have you gotten your information entered in?

I use windows 7 myself. Most everyone uses windows 7.

In fact, can you even imagine a situation in which any current software could be successful if it didn't work on windows 7?

Install Teamviewer on your windows 7 machine, and then come and idle on IRC and wait for me to come online and I will fix it for you remotely. I'm usually online very late in at night though. You might also beg Kannkor or Cybertech to do it for you as well.

I imagine if you edit the ISXEQ2.xml file directly and save it properly (as described in the link I provided) it would probably be fine. You have screwed up permissions on your windows 7 machine -- either that, or you have innerspace installed twice, you're using the streaming or EQ2x client, or something else that you're not telling us.

Hello again
I am having this same issue with my win7-64 bit, type ext isxeq2, and the game window freezes instantly, having to alt+ctrl+del to get out of it.

I have made sure i have .net framework 2.0, and also the latest versions also as i did when i was using Win Xp. I have made sure i followed every step to the mark,
Downloaded every updated file that was recommended.
I even copied my old isxeq2.xml that had my login information on it to be sure that i had the proper info. and have set my firewall permissions to give and isx program full access to the web. I am finally at my wits end trying to figure this out.
I know there are many of you out there that run the same OS and are not having problems

If you have UAC (User Account Control) enabled on your Windows 7 machine, you may have to right-click and run Innerspace as an Administrator or set your shortcut up to run as an Administrator. Even though you are an Administrator of your machine, you may have to do this to get it to run correctly. I have known others to have that problem.

I wanted to say thank you......
Although the problem didnt seem to be the administrator issue, you did get me to have to look at my shortcut properties and notice that for some reason my compatibility was set to run in win xp 3rd service pack mode, so i unchecked the box, and PooF it works now, other than i have to go download the last eq2.exe so it will run now.
:D  :D

Ok i am editing now, I have browsed everywhere i can think of to find the last patched version
of eq2.exe. Could i get a point in the right direction?
I may not be able to find it because i am either really tired, or just dont know where to look.
Thanx again.
