Autotinkering Recipe Scribing?

Tried using the "autotinker" feature tonight and discovered it will not scribe recipes as it levels, even though they are in my inventory. Intended?

Update: I also notice when I manually scribe my recipes, and the bot finishes its run and NPCs the created product, it does not pick up the new recipes, and keeps on making the last one it made. Also intended?

uhh... Most certainly not the case. I've leveled half a dozen tinkers, and I know others have also. I personally have done it from 1 to 450 without needing any human interaction.

Check your CraftingOptions tab and make sure you have it set to scribe recipes.

Also, on the AutoTinker tab, make sure you have the checkbox that does the auto sorting.

Version 1.007 is out.

This comes with massive changes to the Nav lib.

This new version should now make those silly guild halls with counters work with a basic map (just running around). You do not need custom named points.

Added support for custom named points, however it is off by default. I do not believe anyone should need this. However, it's there in the case someone does.

I tested as much as I could, if you have any issues with movement, please copy/paste the console. I have left many debugging messages in. Where possible, tell me how it worked prior to this patch, and what it's doing now.

This change should allow you to use crafting instances also.

Thought I had updated my original post on this, but I must not have neglected to hit save or something. Anywho, shortly after I posted that, the lavishsoft engine experienced an exception and took down my crafter. When I brought it back up, it magically was working! Thanks for the incredibly fast patch ;)

** UPDATE** I have acquired the quest!

I need someone knowledgable with the epic faction writs.

I'm at the Bathezid watch zone and he won't give me a writ.
I have -39k faction, not sure if that's an issue...

If someone can come to IRC or ventrilo and get me started that would be great...
I'm using a level 90/90.

(I have obviously never completed any tradeskill quests before :p)

Bathezid writs

Bathezid writs work with the next release.

Keep in mind, if you do not have the faction to use the fuel merchant, you will have to have the fuel prior, and since there's no depots... you have to have the raws on you also.

Note: It will ask for a writ count for each class. They are labeled under the zone name, which for fens is: exp04_rgn_fens_of_nathsar.

Next release will have:
If a recipe asks for a "forge", sootfoot forge and Blood Iron Forge should now be ignored. (However, if you don't have any other forge, it will still default to the nearest "forge", which may be the sootfoot or Blood Iron.

I have "Crafting instances" on my feature request list. Can someone please provide me with more information regarding these. I assume they are quests or something.

Edit: Come to think of it... I have a feeling this merely meant things like FP/Qeynos/Halas crafting instances...

I believe all bugs are cleared, and nearly all feature requests (see second post of this thread on page 1) have been implemented.

I request that if inventory is full the script will pause not cancel.

I personally have lists with 500 combines + and have to trade to my merchant then to the broker then get a new _myprices to get updated totals to create.

Thanks

I started doing this, but trying to maintain a pause position in 14 different spots where I do checks was going to be way more effort than it is worth.

I may look at doing it again, but we'll see.

Just tweaked it a little.

If you start crafting with 1 or less inventory slots, it will cancel your queue. If while crafting, you end up with 1 or less inventory slots, it will pause your queue.

Beta ending, and the release of OC.

We are approaching the end of OgreCraft Beta.

Full pricing information can be found here: http://eq2.ogregaming.com/wiki/index.php?title=OgrePricing

(Which will allow people to have OgreCraft access without having OgreBot).

There are also a few people that supported OgreBot before it was ever released (about 10 or so). To show my appreciation, your accounts have been given OgreCraft access. (I've given you all the name of 'Legacy').

I'd also like to thank everyone that helped beta test OgreCraft and report bugs. I'd like to specifically point out that I feel tlh4me went over and above helping. In return, I'm going to give him a few months of OgreCraft on me.

I have no specific date on when OgreCraft Beta will end, but it could be as early as next week. I want to keep it going for a few more days to give people chance to try out Bathezid writs etc.

Thanks again to everyone that helped out.

P.S. If you find any more bugs, please do post them. If you have any more feature requests, post them too!

Out of curiousity... if you started the payment for ogre craft in the next few weeks, how would you do the combo pack for someone who JUST paid for ogre? My ogre account isn't due til after the New Year.

Trying to level a woodworker, currently at level 38. When it tries to may feyiron fieldpoint arrows, there are no feyiron clusters available in the GH. We have a "Guild World Market Broker" conveniently located, and the toon goes to buy from it, but nothing happens. The "buy from broker" radio button is enabled. I checked the broker and there are plenty available. They are 2g and change each, so I changed the max price to 500 (assume that means 5g) but still won't buy them. No errors specific to the problem appear in the log (other than it is lacking the required materials.)

Okay, I'll look into the broker stuff. I'll have to play with some guild hall access and such.. as my depot has a lot of every tier :p

The crafting instances I originally posted about as a request are the tradeskill instances where you make multiple combines at different stations, and at the end a chest drops with faction shards, sometimes a rare, and the crafting books for the special armor (rygor in the current expansion). There are four of these, and they rotate every 24 hours. You have to get the crafting ingredients from within the instance itself.

The bot doesn't seem to know how to deal with the reactions for "Aiden's Axe-Strong Brew Reciple," one of the quest recipes you get while doing the Moors timeline. It'll count the ingredients and start the combine, but it'll never use any of the buttons. My guess would be because you use the Stove & Keg, but you need to counter geocraft reactions (i.e., Dull Luster) that normally belong to the Forge.

The console message I have was:

17:30:09: OgreLavishSettings Error: Unable to find set ( NULL ) - Counter: ( 1 )
17:30:17: OgreCraftError[1.2]: Custom: Counter: ( Dull Luster )Option1-3: ( NULL )Dur or Prog: ( Durability-2 )

It's a recipe you use five times ever, then it disappears from your book, so it's not really a big deal.

Bathezid writ counts

I believe all are 6, at least all the Carpenter ones are.

After patching this morning it still asked for the writ counts before it got started on them.

Yea, I didn't know what anyone used other than the 1 I tested, so you'll have to enter it in for all other classes.

broker issues

Having a lot of difficulty at times buying needed items off the GH broker that are withing my set price range.

Main problem I see is that the bot stops with the following message:

Your mouse hast to be over the broker in order to purchase from it. It appears not to be. Waiting until it is...

And, in another case, the bot will not buy "rough topaz" when it needs "raw topaz" as an ingredient.

"Porous Loam" also was flakey - sometimes it buys it, sometimes not.

Sometimes the bot complains about not being able to buy a non-fuel material from the fuel merchant, yet that material is actually in its inventory.

Also, just so I am clear, is the silver buying limit in the options for each individual item or the total of all items needed?

No other errors appear in the log.

Responses in red.

The broker creates all kinds of problems. I highly recommend you stock pile prior to crafting. Having said that, I do have some things in the works that should help with broker buying.

Main problem I see is that the bot stops with the following message:

Right... So put your mouse over the window :p

And, in another case, the bot will not buy "rough topaz" when it needs "raw topaz" as an ingredient.

Poulet was nice enough to make me a list of all these, I haven't implemented it yet.

"Porous Loam" also was flakey - sometimes it buys it, sometimes not.

Sometimes the bot complains about not being able to buy a non-fuel material from the fuel merchant, yet that material is actually in its inventory.

The bot tries to buy everything from the fuel merchant first before buying from the broker. Are you implying that you have enough of a resource but it's trying to buy more?

No other errors appear in the log.

Got these errors earlier:

13:11:45: OgreCraftError: Unknown writ request: I need to brew a stein of Artichoke Kalish.
13:11:45: OgreCraftError: Unknown writ request: I need to grill a Caiman Steak.
13:11:45: OgreCraftError: There's an issue with your writ count file. Your entry for level ( 50 ) shows ( 2 ) different recipes. Yet the bot is reading LESS ( 0 ).
13:11:45: OgreCraftError: Contact Kannkor to investigate. You will need to have this EXACT error message, as well as your eq2ogrecraft/xmlfiles/writcounts.xml file available.

Don't think it's anything to do with the XML file, just seems it doesn't know how to parse the writ lines for the correct recipe names. These are on the level 50 provisioner rush order, "Baker's Half-Dozen."

Note: Seems to be a bug, the bot purchased and scribed the level 50 book, but didn't seem to update the recipe list. Closing and re-loading the craft bot fixed it. Is there a log that might cover what went wrong?

Interesting.. that means in-game didn't send the information to the client. I can look to see to make sure I refresh the recipe window after scribing.

About the "moving the mouse" issue. Of course I have tried moving it myself. The bot does pick up on the move, but I have yet to see it actually buy the item. Obviously I would prefer to not have to sit at the terminal and correct this even if the correction worked, and it does happen quite a bit. But, if you are saying this is what must be done, i.e, that behaviour is intended, then so be it.

About the bot trying to buy stuff from the fuel merchant that is in my inventory. Yes, I have more than enough of the item. This happens irregularly, but it does happen. Usually, the bot stops; I restart it, and it goes on its merry way - it does not repeat the behavior.

And finally, you missed one of my questions (I know, so so many :) ) I assume the silver limit in the crafting options is per item, not the total of all items that need to be purchased. Correct?

Yes, that's right. And if those were coded into Ogre Craft, every crafter would almost have to buy it, especially when each expansion comes out and you need to grind these instances to get armor books, the occasional rare, and the occasional rare wood for raid arrows. It's the biggest time sink for every crafter in the game.

OgreCraft release!

Okay, I will be releasing OgreCraft officially next week. Here's the plan.
Note: OB = OgreBot and OC = OgreCraft.

New subscribers: They simply pick which one they want (or both).

Existing expired subscribers:
If your account has expired, you can simply pick which one you want (or both).

Existing current subscribers:
If you renew your subscription for both OB and OC by the end of Novemeber ( 2 weeks ), it will extend your subscription and include OC for this time.

Example 1:
Your OB subscription expires on Dec 21st. You extend your subscription another 3 months, putting you around Feb 20th (90 days), you will have OB and OC up until then (giving you OC 'free' from now until Dec 21st).

Example 2:
Your OB subscription expires Jan 5th. You extend your subscription another 3 months, putting you around March 4th (90 days), you will have OB and OC up until then (giving you OC 'free' from now until Jan 5th).

If you are one of those few that paid for a year in advance, send me a message if you want OC and we can work something out.

I've been able to get pretty close to automating the tradeskill missions by saving a queue with 12 of each item, then making a map running to each of the tables in the order the queue got saved in. I have to pick up the quest and harvest my own ingredients before starting, but with the queue loaded it's easy to see how many I need of everything.

The one snag I've hit is the sewing table in the clockwork mission, which I just can't get the bot to run to no matter how many times I show the mapper how to get there, and even though it's not very far away.

At this time, I don't have any plans to completely automate these instances.

Having said that, I'll see if I can reproduce the Sewing table issue you are having and see if that's fixable.

I decided to level several tinkerers. My first one was already at 350, and he leveled to 450 easily with no issues. My next two I was starting from scratch. On one of the toons, he crafts, then sells the items, then returns to crafting without issue. On my other toon, he does not ever sell the items he makes. I've checked to make sure my bag options allowed selling, checked all the craft settings (doing it on the same PC anyhow), both toons in the same gh, etc., and I can't find any difference between the second and first toon. Any ideas on what else to check to get him to sell the items he crafts?

Tinker Leveling

I noticed last night the Apprentice Blueprints are purchased no problem but the Dabbler's Blueprints were never purchased.

This is the first toon I worked on with tinkering and this tool, anyone else have this issue? There was nothing in the console to suggest it tried to purchase and could not.

And a suggestion - allow the option to stop tinkering at the various tiers (1 bar, 2, 3 and 4). Skill ups for tinkering occur once the first bar is completed, the difference being the amount of raw material returned. You get nothing back at 1 bar, get some back at 4.

While I've got temp access to ogrecraft , I'm running a provisioner to test myprices & ogre craft , I've noticed the craft bot is very heavy on the power useage , is this normal?.

I mostly use the 'Progress at success cost' and 'Progress at durability cost' reactions when crafting manually , using the 'Durability at success cost' and 'Durability at Progress cost when I start to lose the 4th bar.

I generally only use the 'Durabilty for power cost' one when it's desperately needed, because of an event or if I need to up the durability majorly because it's getting too close to losing the 4th bar.

The power use is leaving a 5-9 second pause beween combines.

Change the power options on the Crafting Options tab.

I think I've changed mine so the power to save is around equal to the power to start crafting with (or whatever the options are called, meaning it won't use any additional power if it would delay making the next item).

Any word on the problem with buying items from a guild broker? The issue of needing to have the mouse over the broker is biting me often and hard. Any tips on how to avoid this issue (other than making sure you have all the needed items in the first place) would be appreciated.

Do suggestions for ogrecraft go in this thread? I would go search further, but, i know i'd forget or get distracted and not post this.
Often times a scribe or alchemest or jeweler will want to make an entire set of spells for a specific class at a specific level or range of levels,
it would be cool to have the ability to show a specific class's spells, it's already possible to show a specific level.

Also, something that old craft did that was real handy was, if you chose to create an imbued item, and didnt already have the non-imbued version of it, it would automatically recognize that you had to make the normal version of the item first and create it, then run it through the imbuing process.

There's no way for me to know what spells belong to what class. There's no data for that available.

The imbue thing is on my list.

Not sure if something has changed recently, but all my crafters are now consistently missing a lot of reactions. Where do all those screenshots go BTW? I must have 100 of em by now.

Also, the bot has gotten quite random in its ability to buy the materials it needs from merchants or the broker. For me at least, it requires a lot of manual intervention.

Let me know if there is any information or logs I can send you.

Are you lagging more than normal? Like, excessively?

The screen shots go into your everquest 2/screen shot/ folder. If you have any that are a lot of repeats, send me 1 or 2 screen shots a long with the text from the console. Nothing has changed that I'm aware of, and I've crafted a bit lately with no issues.

Broken Map?

Weird issue with one of my PCs, yes only one. OC will not run to the crafting station. I have deleted the map (...scripts/EQ2OgreCommon/ZoneFiles/fprt_guildhall_tier3.lso) and remapped three times (only running on top of stations and near fuel merchants and Broker; no points labeling as you instructed). My "big" PC works great, but my "little" PC doesn't. I'm wondering if it's the graphic settings, as they are lower on the "little" PC. I even copied/pasted my "big" PC map file from/to the "little" PC. OC will find the Work Bench if I manually run down the hall that leads there (or start near it), finish the craft (Auto Tinkering in this case), run and sell to Broker, but not return to Work Bench. Any thoughts? Currently Options>Display>Performance is set to High Performance, and "little" PC has 15FPS there (embarrassing I know).

Thank you for your time.

EDIT #2:
So I logged the same toon on the "big" PC and same issue, even though another toon is doing fine. Tried camping to another character on "bad toons" account and had no issue. Camped back to "bad toon" and replicated error. Weird?

EDIT #3:
ZOMG Things are getting more weird. The toon that was running fine just had problems buying rough topaz from the broker, it kept running back and forth from Broker to Fuel Merchant endlessly (mouse was on Broker window). So I bought it on the other toon and put it in harvest depot. Then it wouldn't run back to the Work Bench. >.<

Re: Broken Map?

Oh boy.. where to start.

Until I have more time to add more broker support, I highly recommend you have the supplies on you first.

This is how collision works: You can only tell if collision exists if your toon can see it. EQ2 doesn't render if your client wouldn't be able to see it. Lets look at an example.
| * (You)
----------------| (walll) 1 (spot 1)
....................| <--- Wall that does NOT render yet
% WorkBench| <--- Wall that does NOT render yet

Okay, so from YOU to the workbench, there is clearly a wall, so collision fails. The bot tries to see if it can get to the workbench by moving around the wall. So before it moves, it does checks, it checks: If I move to spot 1, is there any collision to the work bench? Since you can't see the (Wall that does not render yet), there is no collision between spot 1, and the work bench.

That's why you are getting that message.

What options do you have checked on the Navigation Options tab. Because the above scenario is generally a last ditch effort (it prefers to use a map, than that tactic).

I have the first two options checked by default. I actually didn't check them myself.

Allow use of "No Map" navigation
Allow use of "Basic Map" navigation

Wouldn't this affect in all situations? I started in the "crafting" area and OC completed my tinkering all the way to 450 without stopping (including buying from Broker). But, if I interact with anything, or start at Broker, it malfunctions.

Anything else I can test, please let me know.

So if you go and start in the crafting area it always works fine?

Sorry just got done raiding, testing now...

Ok, started in the crafting area, set to 1 item per round, and it moved itself to fuel Merchant > Work Bench > Broker and got hung up opening/closing the Guild Commodities Exporter window. Each time the window closed is when the error message was displayed. There is a considerable height difference with this character compared to all my others. He's really tall. Should that matter? Thanks for the continued support, Kannkor!

Height shouldn't matter.

Draw me a map (in paint or something) of how your guild is laid out. Unless I can reproduce whatever odd problem you're having, I won't be able to fix it.

I would suggest just saving the layout of your GH and sending Kannkor a copy of the file. But first, I would change how your shit is laid out, if you haven't, and see if that corrects it too. Move all your crafting stuff to another room for a test, one without any possible LOS issues. If that does fix it, then stop playing the sims online with your guildhall and leave it simple :D

I would agree, except that running a "myprices" list, and/or starting in different places changes the outcome. Kannkor and I are working on this when he returns. Until then, I'm testing different scenarios to see if I can bypass the error. Thanks, for anymore constructive information. =D

Re: OgreCraft release!

If you renew your subscription for both OB and OC by the end of Decemeber, it will extend your subscription and include OC for this time.

OC is now officially released.
I updated the above quote to extend the offer until the end of Dec since I missed my release date by a bit :)
