Hi there. I used to use isxeq2 a year or two ago for crafting (I never could quite get harvesting to work), but the crafting was excellent. If I set up the path properly it'd happily craft away, complete writs, hand them in, and in good time too. After my computer wiped I tried a different crafting system and frankly, it was absolutely terrible in comparison. I was just wondering, does it still work as well, and (pushing my luck here ) do we have a commonly working harvester atm?

The craft part works ok for some of the crafters but the writs section of the craft bot doesn't seem to get updated. Alot of the writ counts are off and end up not working. I know for a fact that once a Sage hits level 60 the writs get all jacked and don't work anymore. I also encountered this on a tailor when I hit level 70 as well as the Carpenter.

The writs work at max level though, right? If so, who cares about the earlier levels ...just grind the levels doing regular combines. Supporting writs at lower levels is a waste of time anyway. It's not like it's hard to get to max level.

You can "fix" this yourself also... The script uses editable XML files (text files) that hold the information incase writs change... It has been posted in many threads how to update these. This is the exact reason they are in XML files, so you don't need the script maintainer to update them. The writ count being off... it's changing a "6,6" to a "1,1,1,1,1,1" (as an example).

Well I thought I'd best see for myself, so thanks to the short term subscription options I gave it a go. Tested it out on a 60ish alchy and a 50ish jeweller and the crafting is superb. I'd forgotten just how good it was, it's working flawlessly on both of them. Really impressive.

No they don't I have an 80 sage now and they still don't work. Also I did follow the instructions for editing the XML files and now all I get is an error message that the xml writ counts file is not correct. I don't claim to be a master at scripting but I followed the instructions and they don't work either. As far as them working at lower levels thats when it is most useful writs are the easiest way to level and the fastest not to mention you get almost all the money you spend on fuel back for the rewards from the writs.

I'd like to add my experience to this issue of writs and leveling crafters. I have max level alchi, armorer, jeweler, provi, sage, tailor and woodworker. (ya Im a craft nut) all were leveled using the craft function with very little problem. The most recent crafts were provi and woodworker--yes at the lower levels there were a few (very few) glitches but many of those were solved by deleting one rush order and substituting the one offered next. In a couple of cases I just did some individual recipes to get over a hump, but that was not often--certainly not enuf to worry about the paltry fuel costs.

A nice side benefit was I got my guild up a few levels and made a bit of plat on the side.

I think the craft function works extremely well and a few little problems here and there are not worth working up a sweat over.

Several have called craft the best invention since sliced bread--I think it toasts the bread for you too and and makes the sandwich

Don't get me wrong here it is a great thing to not have to do all of it yourself. The guy simply asked a question and rather than the reply he got from others saying it works and better than it ever has. I wanted to be a bit more honest about it and make sure if he was going to buy the product again, he knew it isn't 100% functional. I haven't been using these products very long so I can't speak as to how they used to work I just know I have encountered several issues with the different crafters and the fixes I read and tried to fix just don't seem to work for me.

I think it depends on what expansions you have, also on the Ext server max level is 80 unless you subscribe...

Do the group tradeskill instances, they are soloable, they take 2-3 hours to complete, and they give you all the materials you need so no harvesting needed.

I haven't run across an issue that cannot be fixed by editing either customWrits.xml or writCounts.xml. If this isn't working, then the edit may be incorrect. As Amadeus mentioned, post the files and someone can help you.

This is more true of some TS professions than others. I've found rush hour writs the fastest way to grind most of my crafters to 90, plus you get some nice status for guild etc, and don't have to constantly empty full bags.

The xml for writs needs updating a lot, but I've found it pretty easy to make the changes I need as I go.

It would be awesome to have a complete, up to date customwrit.xml though!

However now you get almost nothing for crafting a item. all the exp comes from completing the writ. doing 4 writs will get you a level now (and all your cash back). so to say it works at high levels who cares is really a bad statement. I'd rather it work for the grind of leveling not when someone wants me to craft them 2 rings. just my 2cents.

I just leveled 4 crafters, I do writs from 20-50, then again from 80-90. Each toon took about 2 days total (all on the same account), so this method works for me and I rarely, if ever, have to change my custom writs file.

I care. I also understand this might be too much work, but low level writs have become just as important as end level. You no longer get a bonus for crafting first time pristine, it was removed as it rewarded crafting classes with lots of recipes and gimped those that did not. Writs are now the fastest way to level up any crafter.
