Ama, if you feel this post is in conflict with the greater good or controlling the discussion, please feel free to delete it. The following is my perspective:
DBG is owned by a private equity firm. In my RL, I deal with many PE firms and the management of their owned entities. What I can assure you is that these guys care about the bottom line more than anything else, whether they want to run the business as a going concern or sell it after 3-4 years.
I have 18 accounts; only one was suspended. I just cancelled the subscriptions on the other 17. My hope is that Ama & team figure out what is flagging the accounts, eliminate it, and I can go back to the only reason I play the game, which is to box instance content. If so, I'll reactivate the accounts.
I know you can't cancel a suspended account. But if you have other accounts and do as I did, the numbers will start to pile up. And when someone projects off that the monthly revenue loss plus game upgrade losses, they may look more closely at whether banning "ethical botting" (i.e., botting that does not infringe on other player's experience and does not generate any real-life financial benefit) is really a problem worth losing the associated revenue over. My guess is any rationale business person (and the PE guys are rationale) will continue the practice of just accepting there are people doing it and happily take the money. And if so, they may be more careful about suspensions in the future.
I say vote with your wallet/subscriptions, so DBG has a clearer picture of our impact. In the end, it's really the only lever we have that will be paid attention to.
