What "is" ISXEQ2?

I've looked all around, tried using the search function, and even asked other forums to no avail.

So my question is simple: Is ISXEQ2 only for running bots, or is it similar in any fashion to MQ2 for Everquest? (I was originally linked here from the MQ2 forums looking for an MQ3 variant).

ps: I saw somewhere that ISXEQ2 also has a radar, is that useful on the pvp server, or is the different "Server sections" for each zone too much of an issue for it to be reliable past say 500ft? :D

Thanks,
-Mojo

It is very much like MQ2, but better. It has a lot more features and is a lot more useful/flexible.

There are no restrictions on the radar any longer. I used to restrict use of some features on pvp servers, but that was lifted a long time ago.

I suggest trying ISXEQ2. Download the free EQ2Bot and 'run eq2bot', then type 'radar on' and 'craft' ..try those two commands. Typically those three things alone make it worth it for most folks.

If you do any scripting yourself, the possibilities are nearly endless. I do quite a bit of script development and have come up with some pretty nifty things. If you be more specific of what you're looking for, we could probably direct you more specifically. However as Amadeus said, there's craft, radar, and eq2bot instantly, and many more scripts available via the SVN etc.

Well, one of the more interesting things that made Everquest enjoyable again using MQ2 were the following features I still have active in my MQ2.ini:

-Infinite WaterBreathing
-Infinite Buff timers (removed awhile ago in Everquest, but still something i'd <3)
-No encumberance
-Warping from one side of a zone to the other, or just 20ft back & forth so mobs couldn't get into melee range with me. (known as "Range Keeper""

-Movement speed changer (I was told recently that EQ2 devs put in checks now to keep this from happening anymore?)

Uhhhm......Infinite potion timers? A friend of mine who used to script for Mq2 found out how to get infinite potion timers in EQ, but he hasn't played for 2yrs now so not sure if that's EVER possible in EQ2.

Etc etc....I'd also be interested in a script that allows me to use 1 character as a "main" & automates the rest into roles similar to that of mercenaries in EQ1 (e.g: I don't have to tell them to heal, buff, or nuke/attack...they just do so all on their own if my main toon that I'm driving attacks something).

I often find that last part (team automation) to be very cumbersome, hard to do, or just plain too complicated for most to even get working let alone use affectively. I'm interested in it simply so i can run heroics by myself that most people do with full groups (I have 3 account, but i'd buy 3 more if i could do something similar to this!).

That's all i can think of for now that i'm looking for in an EQ2 MacroQuest replacement :)!

THANKS!!

ps: You mentioned that your radar is no longer "Restricted", does it add mobs & player locations onto your map like MQ2 does in EQ? Or, is it just a circular HUD that overlays onto my screen? Additionally, does it have any "range" issues? I heard that zones in Eq2 use "cluster servers" to break zones apart for easier population management.

Added my responses..

Automatic with ISXEQ2.
-Infinite Buff timers (removed awhile ago in Everquest, but still something i'd <3)
Most buffs in EQ2 have no duration. They don't even cancel when you die.
-No encumberance
There is no "weight" in EQ2. (There was, they took it out).
-Warping from one side of a zone to the other, or just 20ft back & forth so mobs couldn't get into melee range with me. (known as "Range Keeper""
There is no warping in ISXEQ2. It's a pretty quick way to get banned.
-Movement speed changer (I was told recently that EQ2 devs put in checks now to keep this from happening anymore?)
There is no speed hacking in ISXEQ2. It also is a quick way to get banned. Generally speaking Amadeus provides us with automation tools, not "hacks".
Uhhhm......Infinite potion timers? A friend of mine who used to script for Mq2 found out how to get infinite potion timers in EQ, but he hasn't played for 2yrs now so not sure if that's EVER possible in EQ2.
Not available in ISXEQ2 (Don't think it's possible either).

EQ2bot and OgreBot both do this. Both are adventure bots. EQ2bot is a preconfigured bot that has options on how you want your character controlled. Ogrebot (I'm the developer of it) is a fully customizable bot, to which you need to enter your abilities (via a UI).

I often find that last part (team automation) to be very cumbersome, hard to do, or just plain too complicated for most to even get working let alone use affectively. Many of us have 6 and just group by ourselves. I personally have cleared all the heroic zones by myself (with the exception of the newest content that came out this week).

That's all i can think of for now that i'm looking for in an EQ2 MacroQuest replacement :)!

It's restricted by what is available to your client. In EQ1, it sent the entire zone information to your computer. In EQ2, it sends only the information that you need (your surrounding area, which is based on an in-game option - rendering distance I think?). So you are limited by distance, however it's a pretty solid distance (IMO).

Sweet :D, as for the "Buff Duration" timers...there are some self buffs such as the one beserkers get for 30seconds (2-3 minute cooldown?) that allows the zerk to take 50% less damage from anything. So, whenever I'm pulling a boss during raids I normally smash all my defensive buffs + that particular temp buff & normally. So, if a raid mob hits a Crusader for 5000dmg from an ability it does, it'd only hit me for 2500 for those 30 seconds. That, and the XP potion timers, were really my reason for asking .

Otherwise, I guess i should see what's up with this & if I can get that bot part working :dazed:. Not even sure where to begin ;).

ps: any other goodies that come with ISXEQ2 that are similar to the WaterBreathing thing?

Ohh.. I wasn't even thinking of short term buffs... As far as I know, no way to make them infinite length. (Definitely not available in isxeq2).

As for goodies, there is no waterbreath, and no fog (so there is no.. well "fog" so you can see further. If you have an ATI graphics card, this will cause a memory leak however... If so I'd just turn it off).

Where to start - You'll need innerspace, then you can get a free trail of ISXEQ2 to get into it. Ama has a very good walkthrough ( isxgames.com ).

Then specifically for the adventure bot, you have 3 choices, write your own, use EQ2bot (free), or Ogrebot (not free).

Well, i just dropped $22 :whip: on 3months of IS & ISXEQ2 (combined). First, what's the price of Ogrebot, and what advantages over EQ2bot does it have? Can I 6box most instances (except for 4x raid zones of course) like most people i see here can do, with just EQ2bot, or do they use Ogrebot?

ps: Do you have a Teamspeak or Ventrilo i could hop on to get some tips from ya Kannkor :D?

I suspect most use Ogre, as EQ2Bot has some fairly major deficiencies that makes it less than practical to use in the newer zones(curing response times, movement and target validation being the main issues).

So, if you're not a scripter and/or you have no interest in learning LS then you'll need Ogre if you want to do anything harder than Ascent.

Here is my wiki: http://logan.warpigs.us/wiki/ogre/index.php/Main_Page

To answer your questions directly (they are also in the wiki):
Ogrebot is $15 for 3 months.
It's fully customizable via a UI (see the screen shots of the Tabs on the main page of the wiki).
6boxing instances is mostly dependant on gear. Having enough gear to do so, yes you can 6 box all instances (Although I can't comment on the new instances released this week, as I haven't run them yet).

I do have a ventrilo server: http://logan.warpigs.us/wiki/ogre/index.php/NewUserWalkthrough:Page1#Contact_information
