Here's the problem... In order to do ragefire, you have to quest.

I avoid questing as much as possible, unless it's absolutely positively needed. The mount doesn't interest me, and I assume you have to clear the other parts of ToV to get into the new one, so that doesn't interest me either.

I'm sure I'll get around to doing the quest at some stage... ... maybe... I'm really just hoping a new xpac will come out soon and make it obsolete... :)

I may be wrong but isn't ragefire a random spawn from a piller in any zone? I have chars that havnt done the questline and they killed the heroic version, not the hard one though lol..

It requires someone in the group to have done the quest.

I have no idea if this helps those of you that are trying to kill this but I imagine some stuff is hard to see from the tank spot and some people seem to not realize the circles are static patterns.

If you hail Ragefire from the front (12 o'clock, so his back would be 6 o'clock), the two circle patterns will always leave a "safe" spot at 5 o'clock (Disclaimer: I've only had this not happen once). The safe spot is one where the circles do not fall for one of the patterns, so for one of the patterns you're completely safe to stay in melee range.

I've killed this roughly 30 times, however I duo a group with someone else so he tanks and I control the group's movement. All I do is move about 5-10 meters directly backwards from 5 o'clock when the 2nd pattern spawns, and then back in as the circles despawn. Joust in, joust out, joust in and so on. With the memwipe that comes with the first set of adds, if it happens during the 2nd pattern (the one where you joust) then the circles will move when he repositions, but I've only had this happen in non-bot groups (i.e. low dps groups :().

I'm sure the jousting could be automated or done on command, but this is at least how I handle it. At this point, getting the bastard to spawn is the hard part.

Awesome, grats. We mostly have on no stamina gear so we wouldn't survive not jousting but here's our best parse on it thus far.

Maybe BJ can give you a free copy of his quest bot once it includes the required quests... I think a Ragefire script would be quite popular with the latest changes.

I just got him again and was able to joust-in-out a little for a 6min fight.

Really the key to avoiding the circles is finding the safe spot and not moving around a ton (dieing, losing aggro).

I put an MCP on my shaman and just found the spot with him then hit my "Camp Spot on ME" button. Directions for that button in the Guide to Winning post.

Thanks Blend, this worked for me as well. I jumped on a dps toon and had my crew AF on him for the jousting (which was minimal based on your direction above) and the tank was camped in front of Rage. I didnt once toggle to my tank. I did ~11m dps with Inq/Mystic healing at 260k hps. Appreciate the strat!
