Re: Updated COE class Profiles
Thanks, will give it a shot, what AA specs do u use?
I take a pracmatic approach with my aa settings. That is to say, "If I don't find a daily use for it, then it's of no use or value to me." So, you have to use your own intuition for what works for you. So, take my settings with a grain of salt and adjust accordingly.
Enchanter tree
STR 10-10-10-1. This tree is a must have for any non-pure caster worth their salt. This spec not only doubles your melee range but adds 85 to your piercing and crush abilities along with increasing your avoidance by 10% of its base value as well as adding 48 to your dps/ma/haste values and gives you two fast casting/recast ca's counter blade/spell counter curse when matched with nullifying staff puts out hugh melee dps that interupts the mobs attacks. Yeah any chanter avoiding this tree should just quit the class all together.
AGI/(STA 04-10-10-1) These two trees are very subjective based on the needs of the raid/group. I keep a mirror for just those needs. Normally, I take the STA line over AGI because lets face it, by the time your 90 or higher the AGI tree is obsolete anyway. However, pre90 you want all the help you can get with casting speed-recovery-defense. Don't rule out chronoshiponing altogether the debuff it gives is an added benefit to your raid/grp, so put four points there if you can spare. Remember debuffs are your best friend. The STA tree is where you start to shine as a chanter. I usually precast IR for the healers right before the pull, which when matched with 8% extra healing from Empathic Aura ensures that your healers have time to focus on cures to keep your group alive longer. Trust me your healers will love you for it. Now, for the tanks, they would like you as well because of Empathic Breeze which adds 8% hate reduction to the group if not a fighter. Yes, I know any tank of value won't have a need for this at all but it's better safe then sorry. I admit that I don't bother with sever hate any longer unless its detrimental for the tank. Normally, I would just cast coercer shout along with thought snap to get the mob back on the tank. however, its still good to have for those times when the tank dies and need an immediate recourse because everything else has been exhausted.
WIS (/facepalm). Unless you are an admit solo gamer and never raid/group dont consider this tree. EVER! However, for those of you who do solo, this tree is very effective on COE trash/bosses outside of raids of course but only COE. Everything else prior top COE is either a waste of time because of trash life span during fights or just non-mezzable mobs. This is none more true than with DOV and SF.
INT 10-4-9-1. I love nullifying staff because it not only adds to my melee dps, it also fits well in between casting counter blade and spell counter curse for an effective 1-2-3 punch and the added debuff is always a bonus. I added 4 points to savants insight only because you don't need more than that and you have no choice as it is. I placed 9 points into savants channel for obvious reasons.
SF additionals: 8 points into wild swings for 24% melee frontal AE. 8 points into uninterruptable actions. 2 points in channel for those times when the bragging illy fails to do their job which is often j/k.... Not really!
The other trees are just more for dps enhancement/increasers which are pretty much self explainable so I will spare you a long post about them.
I hope this helps you guys out. I have played my coercer as well as other classes since eq2 launch date mitgrating from eq1 back in it's early launch days from Feb. 2000. I have a lot of experience under my belt with all classes in the game. Let me know if I can answer any questions.
