There is a special node that this drops from but it is un-tractable with the in game harvest tracker. Does our Radar still track it? It is called a mysterious (something)

I believe it was called a Mystical Stone. I saw one with in game track when AoM first launched, before that was patched. Looked like a pile of gems that had a particle effect. The issue of people finding these using 3rd party programs has recently come up on the official forums. I've never seen one with radar so I can't tell you if it shows up or not.

Yeah if this thing shows up on the radar I'd really like to know, too. Been trying to find these things since launch, have yet to even see one. What I've been told is they only show up in TS1 or PS1 (you can't make your own instance to get one) and they can spawn anywhere but usually in the middle of the water somewhere. Dunno if you can tab target to see them, or if a target macro will work. I was told the name starts with Mystic (maybe Mystical). Has anyone confirmed if they are visible in the radar, and if so as what? You'd think resource but Spiteweed shows up as an NPC so it could be anything IMO.

Ogre doesn't have a radar. ISXEQ2 has a radar.

Which is exactly why to us, that thread is so amusing. It has nothing to do with 3rd party to find them. It's they are so beyond rare, with a terrible spawn rate, that _no one_ can find them. And when in doubt, just blame the botters!

Chances are that it shows up on the radar as "a mysterious crystal"; however, it's just so rare that you're never seeing it. I'm sure if someone, who uses ISXEQ2 AND the radar, visit this thread -- they will confirm or deny that this is true. However, chances are the reason you're not getting any sort of definite response in this thread is because no one here knows for sure.

Speaking of which, is there a way to make a filter where ONLY something with that name will appear? Not just for that, but thinking it would be nice if you're looking to harvest just that rare (as opposed to having to filter out every one of the others).

I believe EQ2Track does that type of behavior. But no, there is not a way to only show a specific item in radar without filtering the rest.

To even be able to see the node you must have 1 point in the first new Far Seas AA TS ability called Far Seas Harvesting Technique, so if you're flying around looking for one and you're not a crafter, well you will never see it track or no track...

I've seen two on radar so far, so they're out there and radar does work, they're just rare as hell. And yeah, they show up as "a mysterious crystal".

Nice, do you recall if it shows up under resources? Just making sure, some resources (like spiteweed) shows up as an NPC.

BTW I've heard they only show up in TS1 and PS1, you basically can't get your own instance and grab them all.

With ISXBJ Patch # 103 there will be a new script. Information below is from the patch notes:
Code:
'''BJMysterious-2015.01.08, Version 1.01'''
*Description: Will continuously scan for the mysterious node that contains the rare item needed to craft many desirable items in Altar of Malice.
*Pre-Requisites: Must be a 95 crafter with 1 point in the Tradeskill Prestige ability Far Seas Harvest Technique. Must have OgreIRC open.
*Optional: BJ Quest Bot running.
*Command: BJ Mysterious
*How It Works: : Will send a message to Ogre IRC when a mysterious crystal is located with the name of the character who found it and it's /waypoint location. Additionally, if Quest Bot is actively running, it will pause QB and play a sound to notify you.

My guess is that it is the full range available to ISXEQ2 ...which varies by actor (and is set in the server's database, so it's impossible to know without testing against the actor in real time.)

Hey BJ what's the range of BJ Mysterious?
Like Amadeus said, it's the full range of ISXEQ2. In both of those particular zone it works out to be about 150m roughly. I just used Quest Bot: Solo Edition to fly a very long loop around the map.
