Stuff in red - Well, we know it IS working, as people in this thread have said so. It may not be working for you, but the fact that it is working for them, means innerspace DOES work with windows 8, at this very moment.Tried this as well with same results. I went as far as wiping out all eq related things from the pc and reinstalling them all. I then reinstalled eq2 and innerspace only. Try to open eq2 via innerspace and same error. It really seems like innerspace is not working with windows 8 atm. I can run eq2 from the eq2.exe or everquest2.exe if i open to sony/everquest II dir and just double click them. So i know eq2 is working just not when i try and launch threw innerspace. Thank you for the help tho.
Okay, so it's specific to Eq2 and innerspace. If you want additional help, provide the screen shots requested.I did a fresh install of eq2 and a fresh install of innerspace. Not even installing isxeq2 and trying to load eq2 from innerspace and it does nothing. It worked for me as well in win8 till first patch day. Makes me think that via windows updates or fresh eq2 install that is what broke it. At any rate i installed win 7 on a partition and im running it all fine from there. I dont even get a valid error when i try and load eq2 it simply says eq2 client application has stopped working.
Are you using the normal version of innerspace? Try the developer version and see if that helps. Have you tried running innerspace as administrator?I did a fresh install of eq2 and a fresh install of innerspace. Long before I ever migrated over to win8, I saw this issue. I had a post over there with the issue I had. I ended up reformating my system and reloading win7. This is a weird bug with innerspace. Any information you can give lax to hunt it down would be great.Having the same issue with win 8, started about the same time as yours did. Innerspace reports in the con that everquest2.exe was executed successfully but it never loads up. Uninstalled every thing and just installed innerspace and still nodda. Going to head over to their forums and see what I can find.
Windows 8 can do some odd things with permissions (particularly if you copied a prior EQ2 installation from another place into a folder like Program Files) that causes EQ2 to crash. Maybe try right clicking the EQ2 folder and changing Security on the folder to allow programs not running as administrator to read/write files in the EQ2 folder.Long before I ever migrated over to win8, I saw this issue. I can say that its going to be something you did and not win8. I know win8 is very different but its basicly win7 with a new wraper..Ok it works on beta that is on another drive but not on eq2live that is on another drive. Thinking about ditching wind 8 if I can't figure out whats going on.
I have 3 drives, drive#1 System(os), drive 2 Games (pageing and crash cache?), drive 2 moves, music and the eq2 beta/test. So I don't know what is stopping if from loading.
I tried deleting everything from the computer and reinstalling again and still doesn't work. I removed the extension from innerspace startup and eq2 loads fine in innerspace but as soon as I do ext isxeq2 on the console it crashes again.
Did you make sure that you're using the proper EverQuest2.exe? I'm curious if updating that properly will fix it -- then I can figure out why it's crashing. http://www.isxgames.com/isxeq2/exe is where the correct EverQuest2.exe is located. Just try following the instructions on that page to replace your EverQuest2.exe and then be sure that you're loading EverQuest2.exe within innerspace without letting EQ2 patch (i.e., make sure you're launching EverQuest2.exe, not EQ2.exe)seems to work till next patch time
